I got the K63 lap board setup. It is fantastic and I haven’t noticed any lag on the keyboard.

...the mouse, on the other hand, is terrible.

The Corsair K63 and Rocatt Sova are made for couch M&K gaming. I have never tested any out but watched some vids and read reviews. People seem to like them. My current M&K are Corsair and I love them so I would prolly go with Corsair. But I don't think you can go wrong with either.

Thanks to the other people who replied to this thread, I found out that the game does, in fact, have a slider to adjust the scaling! I glossed over the settings because I assumed that all sliders were related to audio. However, Classic mode is still impossible to play, due to everything else remaining small and the zoom being disabled.

As for the lapboard, I'm actually using something that I'd purchased for my laptop a while back: a "laptop lap desk with pillow cushion", by Cooler Master (that particular model seems to be discontinued, though, and this is the one currently available - same size, different color).

It's not ideal. I can barely fit my Logitech wireless keyboard (K830) and mousepad (by Evoluent) on top of it. But I did some research last year, when I built my PC (I had been primarily a console gamer for the last decade), and all "true" lapboard options had terrible reviews. What seemed to be the better one - the Lapdog, by Corsair - is wired, which kinda defeats the purpose

So, I decided to wait and use what I already had as a temporary solution. Now, I'm considering getting this... thing, also by Corsair. The lapboard is available separately, but since it's made for that specific Corsair keyboard (the K63), it's not worth it if you already have your own device that you enjoy. The mousepad is integrated, so you also have to take that into consideration.

Paul (from Paul's Hardware YouTube channel) has a good video showing that product (and a few others). He starts using the setup at the 16:40 mark.

Do you want to use your own keyboard and mouse, or do you want an all in option?

  • One of these if you just want a lap desk. If you've already got a wireless keyboard and mouse you're all set. I use it for my laptop + mouse and on my HT setup with a keyboard + mouse.
  • A keyboard lap desk like this one or this one. I got the Roccat mechanical + Tyon mouse together on Massdrop for $189 about two weeks ago to be my dedicated setup for my PC hooked up to my TV. I believe the Corsair one is dockable so you can use the K63 keyboard on a desktop when you aren't using it in lap desk mode.

I have a Corsair K63 Lapboard that I love but doesn't get nearly enough use. They also have them at Micro Center if you have one nearby.

They use Cherry MX Red switches which are kind of a love it or hate it switch, from what I've read. I absolutely love them for gaming but found them unusable for regular typing.

Let me introduce to you, the lapboard. Works like a keyboard, but it sits on your lap when you sit on your couch.

I got the combo deal with a Corsair K63 wireless backlit keyboard and lapboard from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078233TKB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_mgXNNGmqCey8i
.

For a mouse I got the Logitech G602 wiress mouse. I like the mouse for the programmable dpi which is helping me in ME2. The mouse pointer travels at near light speed in that game unless I turn dpi all the way down.
