If you look at the argument again, you will see how I asked him why he decided to tell the person he was replying to unsubscribe to r/atheism when he specifically said:
>I personally don't care if my front page gets flooded with atheism post
and ignored everything else he said. He decided to bring up the straw man fallacy, when he in fact was doing the same thing.
I was just pointing out the facts.
edit: tu quoque fallacy is pointing out why a person's argument should be completely disregarded due to the hypocrisy of the person. For example:
>1. X fails to follow his own advice.
2. Therefore, X's claim or argument should be rejected.
I never stated that he should be completely disregarded due to his hypocrisy.
>It should be noted, however, that there is nothing fallacious as such in criticizing a persons's hypocritical behavior. For example:
>Jim: Our neighbor Joe gave me a hard time again about washing our car during this drought emergency.
>Patty: Well, he's right. But I wish that hypocrite would live up to his own advice. Just last week I saw him watering his lawn in the middle of the day.
