I've been running this 4GB https://www.amazon.it/gp/product/B01775JF9M for 2 months in my 918+ together with the original 4GB RAM stick.
Code is CT4G3S186DJM. Never rebooted by itself, normal boot-up times. DSM updated with no issues. And I run VMM VM's using up all the RAM.
I used Crucial CT4G3S186DJM for mine, had it a bit over a month, no problems so far

For my DS418play i bought two of theseC rucial 4GB Single DDR3/DDR3L... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01775JF9M?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf and have had zero problems what so ever. They are also cheaper then synology's own ram.

I was able to find it cheaper a few days ago on Amazon but it looks like they raised the prices to $45
