Alright, maybe they aren't, but what you're doing to profit off of users is bullshit. The "featured PC of the week" that users can shop for on your site? There's an identical one on Amazon with the exact same specs, photos and everything, for $100 less- not only are you making users think the PC on your site is a better deal than Amazon's identical model (even if CYBERPOWERPC gives you a different meaningless model number) at $100 more, but you're taking Amazon's profit margin and adding on top of it all for you to keep yourself as profit.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0747W15QL/

This is a pretty good base for a VR prebuilt (its VR ready). I bought the late 2016 model of this computer and I am happy with it (even though I've upgraded things on it). Its s highly rated model

Only potential downside is it has a AMD RX 580 GPU. It will still play VR but nvidia cards tend to be better supported.

However. The gtx 1060 nvidia (RX 580 equivalent gpu) is $150 more, but includes an additional ssd drive

I'll probably get downvoted for this, but at that price point i'd get [this pc] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0757DVF4Z/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1) off of Amazon. It's a good prebuilt that has the ability to be upgraded. The biggest issue with it is the RAM, but you can always add another stick.

They make this same pc but with a gtx 1060 as well which is basically the same as the rx580 but it cost a little more an doesn’t run as hot. But this is exactly what I owned and still have all the parts to. Not every game will run on max settings but you can definitely run games on good settings an get good frames

Even with 1k you could buy a PC with a GTX 1060 MINIMUM.

Example Here: A 700 dollar pc with a GTX 1060, not the best deal but still leagues better than a 1050ti

u/zelda5820 · 2 pointsr/Vive

Sorry to bother you so much, I really appreciate the help! Currently looking at this desktop which comes with the 1060, and it's well within my price range. What do you think of this one? The reviews say it's really nice for upgrading, but something about needing to buy a specific cable, which should be no problem. https://www.amazon.com/CYBERPOWERPC-Xtreme-GXiVR8060A5-i5-8400-GeForce/dp/B0757DVF4Z/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=vr+ready+pc&qid=1549767428&s=gateway&sr=8-3

I got this one. It's not high end, but better than average I guess. I don't know anything about computer specs, had my brother in law check it out first. When I bought it, I guess it was probably upper mid tier. Regardless, it runs Elite on ultra settings just fine. Claims to be rift and vice ready, but I haven't gone that far yet. Been seriously considering it though.

tech deals does a better explanation on how this is a really good deal and how could you easily upgrade the ram to 16gb and/or upgrade to a 1060 6gb and sell the 1060 3gb somewhere elseusing the left over money that you were gonna buy the 1,100 prebuilt you linked above.

u/Gippip · 1 pointr/VRGaming

Elite is complicated for sure. I personally also believe it should only be played with a HOTAS in VR. And it's not a game for everyone. Watch some clips in YouTube if it sounds like a game you'd be interested in. Once you start playing, it's not bad. Myself and several friends got the hang in about a day (Controls, movement, landing, etc) with only one friend to this day only ever manually having been able to land his ship a single time before giving up on the game.

Also, here's a link to the pc I own. I have yet to upgrade it and have no frame rate issues running ED in ultra VR graphics. Feel free to compare to your own build.

Or that SkyTech Archangel II. I'm a fan of Ryzen in general, but if you prefer Intel this would be a good alternative.

u/Vesuz · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Ok, I think the best you could get in that range would be try and look for something with an i5 or Ryzen 5 (preferably 1600) and try and find something with at least a gtx 1060/rx580 graphics card. I wouldn’t worry too much about ram 8gb of ddr4 is fine, you can always add another 8gb later. Try and keep the monitor to a 1080p/60hz you won’t need better than that. Good luck!

Edit: something like this just as a reference (if you can find one with these kind of specs and price but a 6gb 1060 then def go for that)

u/FlamingLizardGaming · 1 pointr/suggestapc

This pc has a much worse CPU but a better GPU, SSD, and 16 gigs of RAM. (Extra money for monitor and keyboard/mouse/headset?)

This PC has an 8th gen i7, a 1060, 16 gigs of RAM, an SSD and an HDD (but no extra monies)

This PC Has a pretty good CPU, a 1060 GPU, an SSD+HDD, but 8gigs of ram. (But is way cheaper so you can install more ram later.

These GPUs definitely can't last 7 years but can easily last 3-4. Personally I would choose the one in the middle if you really want this for 7 years. If you want something 100% future proof for atleast 5 or 6 years, I would choose this: amazing PC with a big SSD, liquid cooling, a 1070ti with 8 gigs of ram, and a 6-core i7-8700k. This PC is similar

Lastly, This PC will meet you in the middle with a 6 gig GPU for a long while, 16 gigs of ram, an SSD, and an i7.

Personally I would choose this one if you really want this for 7 years without breaking the bank.

Again, good luck and let me know if you need anything else. Enjoy!

Depends on the price range your looking for and what type of machine; high-end intense graphics, mid-range for just playing MMO's or MoBA's or low-end for mainly movies, music, email and office duties.

Mid-range you usually can find quite a bit of decent options. High-end is were you REALLY need to watch the specs for each "Sale" cause they often like to short something essential in order to offer such a good "deal". For example, they amount of memory, for High-end you really need at least 16 gigs to have a solid build but a lot of "Deals" will leave you with ONLY 8 gigs installed and thus cutting the price that way and calling it a "Deal".

Here's a High-end Deal that looks real nice: https://smile.amazon.com/iBUYPOWER-Trace-9220-Overclockable-Motherboard/dp/B07G77QHV8/ref=sr_1_2?s=black-friday&psr=EY17&ie=UTF8&qid=1542973523&sr=1-2&keywords=desktop+computers

Hey guys, not sure if this is the correct subreddit or place to post.

I am looking to buy a new PC as I am playing on an old laptop, after looking around these 2 are my final choices I think, need help deciding which to pick, or if anyone has any other suggestions that would be fine too. thanks.

So I'm still talking to him to look into the prospect of having a friend of his build the PC if it comes to that. Thankfully, that means those builds above you linked can still be used, but it'd also need to have windows 10 installed, presumably without activating the product key, and I honestly don't know how to install windows without a CD.

As for the pre-build computers, I did some digging online and found these two options from Amazon:

  1. https://www.amazon.ca/HP-Quad-Core-Professional-Certified-Refurbished/dp/B07CGBYBXM/ref=sr_1_4?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1550385041&sr=1-4&keywords=desktop+computer+i7&refinements=p_n_feature_four_browse-bin%3A7322347011

  2. https://www.amazon.ca/CYBERPOWERPC-GXiVR8060A5-Desktop-i5-8400-GeForce/dp/B0757DVF4Z/ref=sr_1_11?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1550385041&sr=1-11&keywords=desktop%2Bcomputer%2Bi7&refinements=p_n_feature_four_browse-bin%3A7322347011&th=1

Although I'm sure there are things I'm missing in regards to those two. The first one looks good, minus seemingly not having a graphics card, but is it missing something important? The second one is obviously pretty damn expensive, but it looks like it has the features you mentioned for the CPU and video card. Thoughts?

If those two look functional that'd mean 4 options on the table (Outside of him going to a nearby computer store and seeing what they have in stock of course). It's difficult trying to narrow it down, trying to get it functional without breaking the bank, so to speak. The Amazon ones don't come with monitors obviously, but other than that...? Hmm. I'm trying to weigh the risk/reward of having individual parts mailed in but risking his friend perhaps not building the PC right. Any broken part is just lost money assuming they don't have some sort of return policy.

This seems to be a pretty decent machine. And you can always do simple upgrades like more memory pretty easily. It comes with a good graphics card that should be able to handle any game at decent settings. It has windows 10, a keyboard, and mouse. You said he has a monitor so that should be about everything. Just need a desk to set him up at and a comfy chair. And headphones or a speaker.
