Girlfriend here. I bought it on Amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002MPLYEW/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1408575581&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40

But when I ordered it last week it was about $40 more expensive. Stupid Amazon.

I bought this one and love it: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002MPLYEW/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1495490061&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=danby+120+can+beverage+center+stainless+steel+dbc120bls

The shelves can be adjusted to your liking. Personally, I put bombers on the bottom, 12 oz bottles on the middle and cans on top so it's a perfect fit. I've had it for about 2 years now with no issues.

8x4x1 Salt blocks x10:
I got them from this user on ebay as they seem to have the cheapest

Total Cost: ~$350-$400
I don't remember how much I paid for tax and all that

I went with this cooling even though its a little smaller than I would have liked just because of the glass door. Love the fact that I can check out my meats without having to open the door and create an inconsistent environment. A thing to note though, is out of the box, the base temperature of the bev center is around 40-44 degrees F. I read that the ideal temperature is between 34-40, so I had to tweak the internal thermostat a bit. This was a huge help. It took me a few days to calibrate it to the temp range I wanted, but for how it seems to be holding steady around 38 degrees which is fine by me.

The humidity doesn't seem like something I can control too well. I live in SF and the humidity of my room stays about 70-80%, but the bev center with nothing in it stayed around 30-40%. That's a little too low for my liking, and even adding a bowl of water didn't seem to help. With the meat inside, it stabilized around 60%, which I'm a little more happy with. I would prefer it hit around 65%, but that doesn't seem like it's going to happen.

The depth of the bev center is a bit too shallow to get a whole roast in, so I ended up having to cut it in half.

I lined the walls with salt blocks, but the grates are only around 7/8". I ended up having to expand the space of the edges with a crowbar so the salt blocks could fit.

I added the fan on the bottom to add circulation. The cord is small enough where I didn't have to mod the bev center door so that it could fit through.

All in all, I like how the rig turned out. I probably should have taken some intermediate pictures, but oh well.

Let me know if there's anything else you would like some clarification on.

This one

I ignored the negative reviews, and it's worked out quite well for me. It keeps my beer between 43 and 47 degrees. Pretty perfect temps for most craft beers imo.

I have this guy:

https://www.amazon.com/Danby-Beverage-Center-Stainless-DBC120BLS/dp/B002MPLYEW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1517696171&sr=8-2&keywords=danby&dpID=41Ck5KWkxjL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

Reviews be damned, it's been fantastic for ~2 years now. The one gripe, and it's minor: The temperature will not get a beer frosty cold. It's cold. Very cold. And I've never had a complaint. But it won't flirt with making your beer into a slushy. That's okay for me, but not everybody. If you're like me, though, this will fit your need perfectly.

I was in the same boat. Coolers in the $150-200ish range generally have very little storage, especially for storing bottles vertically. Finally I found this:

I've had it for awhile and love it. Read the first couple reviews. Basically, the shelves are removeable and you can stand beer up in it. It stays within temp and fits quite a bit of beer. Highly recommended.

If you don't need a lot of space, I use this one:

http://www.amazon.com/Danby-DBC120BLS-Beverage-Center-Stainless/dp/B002MPLYEW/

I added a 20% tint to the window to keep the light out. I think it looks pretty nice. At the warmest setting it's always ~50F. Fits about 25+ bombers and 2-3 6 packs.

This is the model! And yes it has a glass door, and is lockable and has a sweet blue light too.

My fermentation chamber is a Danby fridge with a glass door. If I turn my temp controller (STC1000) down to 0C, the lowest the chamber gets is around 5C/41F. I'd like to get this lower, I know the fridge is shutting off so it doesn't freeze things, the temp is turned up to the max. Any way to bypass/fiddle with the fridge's temp sensor or turn up the dial past max?

I've been eying this fridge for a fermentation fridge. Anyone have any experience with it? Looks like it will easily fit an Ale Pail and just barely fit a 6.5 gallon carboy.

I bought this: https://www.amazon.com/Danby-Beverage-Center-Stainless-DBC120BLS/dp/B002MPLYEW/

Looks nice, shelves can be moved. Holds a good number of bottles.

In this exact same situation right now. I was looking at that Danby 120-can as well, but if you're going that route, I've read to make sure you buy the updated version (there's hardly any of the old ones still around from what I've gathered, so it shouldn't be too difficult). Also, the shelving is grated and I don't believe there's an in-fridge temp reader, but you can buy glass liners and a reader separately for ~$10 more. FWIW, Amazon seems to be the best place to buy the Danby for price and convenience.

A couple weeks ago, however, I read a review singing the praise of the Sam's Club brand fridge, and the reviews on their website seem to say the same. It runs ~$179, and there was a three-year warranty option for a little over $20. I checked one out in person; the shelving is tempered glass, and it has a built-in temp reader. I don't have a Sam's membership, but I've read that you can purchase online and pick-up without it for a percentage of the cost. I have also seen that the company's customer service is very solid and easy. I might be leaning a little more this way, but I know it's entirely a preference thing. Cheers bud, good luck picking and let me know what you choose!

Note: Woah that Danby was $195 last week, now its running $280 on Amazon

I have the Danby 120 and really like it.

u/ilovehamburgers · 1 pointr/drunk

It's on sale on Amazon right now. I'm loving it so far. It has a light at the top and comes with a built in lock and two pairs of keys.

This one right here is working out pretty well for me.

Heres what I've got in it right now Bottom part fits large bombers, mid part fits 22oz bombers. Pretty happy with it for the most part.
