Followed up with 90+% rubbing alcohol. Otherwise, new parts.

I recommend datavac. It's amazingly powerful and comes with a straw attachment that can get the fans and fins real easy. No joke, this moves a lot of air. It is almost as loud as a regular vac though. Still recommend it.

Also, despite the name it is not a vacuum, it just blows...heh that's what she said.

We use something like this at our work. It has more power than a can of air and has a filter that can be cleaned out on the bottom. https://www.amazon.com/Computer-Powerful-Electronic-Environmentally-Friendly/dp/B01FWSYOME/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1525355330&sr=8-10&keywords=dust+blower

I mean, they can compress air into a can, but unless you can use a material that becomes a liquid at high pressure, the capacity is going to be REALLY low. You can definitely use aerosol based cleaners on the inside of your machine. You do need to be careful as the expansion of the gas inside the can will lead to some pretty cold temps coming out of the can which will cool off your parts considerably - VERY important to remember in the event you are cleaning it on a hot, humid day. I learned that one the hard way.

If you have a decent enough budget, you can get an electronics blower and go with a more environmentally friendly (and reusable) option. Amazon has a ton of options, but I've had my eye on this kit

Got me one of these in 2010. Still running strong.

Seriously, get one of these or of these.

Worth every penny.

Edit: if you are blowing into fans, make sure to keep them from spinning too fast. The bearings can get damaged if the fan spins too fast.

This works really well for most dust issues. Nothing beats removing keys and deep cleaning though.

I bought one of [these](DataVac Computer Duster & Cleaner Super Powerful Electronic Dust Blower Environmentally Friendly https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01FWSYOME/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_FemMzb4B83NCZ) and have no regrets.

Never ever vacuum your computer. It creates a shit ton of static electricity and can fry your electronic components. I've been using [this] (https://www.amazon.com/Computer-Powerful-Electronic-Environmentally-Friendly/dp/B01FWSYOME/ref=sr_1_27?ie=UTF8&qid=1497897462&sr=8-27&keywords=computer+vacuum+cleaner) for 7 years now and while still loud does a great job.

I think it will mostly depend on your use case. If you plan on putting your Cerberus on or near a carpeted floor, have pets, or live near a major roadway, I would recommend them. They will increase the impedance seen by what ever fans you have pulling air through them, costing you some flow-rate and likely a small increase in noise; so if you view these as issues you'd rather avoid, you can just be mindful to blow out the case every couple months or so.

You can get filters on amazon or newegg, just search for computer dust filters, or computer fan filters.

Additionally, if you're worried about dust, and don't want to keep buying cans of compressed air, I'd recommend a Computer Duster . I picked this one up a number of years ago and its never let me down.

Velcro ties are always nice. Maybe a magnetic parts tray for screws I should probably get one of those eventually because I keep spilling screws all over my floors

Stock setup is fine in the H500. More fans actually make it worse for cooling.

Regarding dust, really the only way to minimize it is to have less airflow. People talk about how having positive air pressure in the case helps reduce it and that negative air pressure increases dust build up by pulling dust in through the cracks in the case, but this is simply untrue, as the dust that fits through the cracks is also going to pass through a dust filter, and so neither method reduces dust.

Get something like this https://www.amazon.com/Computer-Powerful-Electronic-Environmentally-Friendly/dp/B01FWSYOME and blast the dust out whenever you see it.

I would certainly blow it out periodically. As everyone should do with equipment in a non filtered air environment.

I personally have one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Computer-Powerful-Electronic-Environmentally-Friendly/dp/B01FWSYOME

Keeps from having to buy canned air all the time and I dust my consoles, PC, etc once a month or so unless I notice hair or dust on it before that; This coming from a house with 5 cats.

u/spoonard · 0 pointsr/PS4

I went out and got myself one of these.
