I use this De La Cruz 10% Sulfur Ointment for my active blemishes. It works a lot better for me than any salicylic acid spot treatments. Just leave on for 10 minutes and wipe off :)

I've had worse, it'll get better.
It may take a few weeks or months, but it can get better. Recently I've learned about how sulfur helps the skin. You can do a Google search to look into sulfur & skin health, but here is a sulfur & skin intro link. I've started putting this on a couple of nights a week, and it seems to help things like this heal and turn back into healthy skin. It takes weeks though.

Another option for a continuous treatment that I've had great success with is sulfur ointment. I've tried the De La Cruz sulfur ointment and the San Marcos version and love them both. This may be less irritating than using Head and Shoulders all the time. I use it as a mask nightly for 10 mins then wash it off and moisturize. It also gets rid of acne as well, so it's a two in one deal! And, the FA can't develop a resistance to sulfur.

start by putting it on (as you would any face mask) for 15 minutes & washing it off in lukewarm water. traditional exfoliation only aggravates the seb derm.

Sulphur products work so well in my skin but my skin is pretty dry so I don't love using the bar soap either. They make creams though so I think you could give that a go with similar results:
