Big Deadpool fan here. Almost everything I've read is amazing:

  • Classic Volumes I - VI (the first is meh but it's somewhere to start)
  • The newest series they started with him (someone mentioned Secret Invasion, that's what started this new series, so far there's 52 issues)
  • Cable and Deadpool (which are mentioned elsewhere), there are 10 8 volumes (50 issues with this as the 8th volume)
  • Merc with a Mouth

Ones I didn't really get into:

  • Deadpool MAX
  • Teamup (didn't last very long)
  • Deadpool Corps was alright

There's obviously a few others I didn't mention but as far as I can tell, I hit all of the big ones except for a few stray issues when he's featured in other comics (like X-Force, he really doesn't have a huge role in that).

Edit: Cleaned up a few things and added a new link for C&D vol. 8 (for those trying to search for volume 8).

Here's the thing: Deadpool doesn't really work that well on his own. He's much better off in guest appearances and the occasional team-ups. However, Fabian Nicieza's the guy who created him and most of the work he writes involving Deadpool turn out great. My best recommendation would be "Deadpool vs The Marvel Universe" written by Nicieza and drawn by the amazing Scottie Young who's a huge fan favorite artist and captures the silliness that goes along with Deadpool's persona.

If you like those "who would win in a fight" type stories, you might enjoy it more, but it seemed pretty light on humor to me in favor of leaning on the fourth wall really hard, not that those things are exclusive. I enjoyed Deadpool Vs The Marvel Universe much better as it was the end of the Deadpool/Cable series and thus was a good bridge back to his solo stuff.

they already did. Is it like... some sort of rehash?

That is interesting, but if that is true how come I can order it in paperback from amazon for $18 http://www.amazon.com/Deadpool-Marvel-Universe-Fabian-Nicieza/dp/0785125248

>He also happens to be the only hero with the superpower to cross cinematic universes

Wait... what? No that's not true. DEADPOOL is not only able to realize he's a character, but he also killed the Marvel Universe Killed multiverse version of himself I havent forget the fact he killed characters from classic litterature. He even went as far as killing the authors of Deadpool
