agreed, just bought DeepCool brand LED's for my pc just last week. only $20 and took 3 minutes to setup.

What worked really well for me is the LED strips are magnetic so no paste or tape required. Hooked up to a 4-pin Molex and that was it.

I've used the HUE and the DeepCool RGB 350 (which both items you linked seem to be rebrands of) and actually prefer the DeepCool, even though it's cheaper.

The sticking is better (magnetic), the lights are brighter, and you get two short strips instead of one super long one making it easier to find places inside your case. Only downside is that you're stuck with the pre-set colors on the remote, but they have most bases covered with those.

A more focused on 'workstation' tasks, but you'll still easily play games like Overwatch on ultra 60+ fps at 1080p with a 1050ti.

The E5 1230 is very similar to an i7 6700, but without integrated graphics (which won't matter). 32gb's of memory might be a bit overkill, but if you plan on having the entire Adobe suite open at the same time it'll help. Another thing that will help a lot is the 950 PRO, it's expensive but damn it's fast. I suggest you install your OS and software there and store your projects / games on the 2tb hdd i included. The case isn't anything special, but it's white and it has a Window. If you're looking for LED's, a cheap option would be DeepCool's magnetic rgb strips for $20, or you can go all out and get the NZXT Hue + for $60.

It's maxing out your budget at $1000, but gives a pretty powerful workstation.

A cheap RGB Kit. $20 gets you controllable lights! I have this kit myself and the colours are a little cool (aka, white has a blue hue to it) but you can't go wrong for the price.

Depends what LEDs you get. Some, like this item on amazon, plug into your power supply and not the MOBO

Couldn’t seem to add it on PCPP but feel free to add a RGB strip like this one - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01F3C6VSO/ref=asc_df_B01F3C6VSO5471018?smid=A6SXSZXC805J3&tag=hawk-future-20&linkCode=df0&creative=395129&creativeASIN=B01F3C6VSO&ascsubtag=pcg-1036245267264580734-20. I already included RGB ram, RGB fans, and a white case, and a white cpu fan, but you could opt for an RGB fan also like this one - https://pcpartpicker.com/product/RcdFf7/cooler-master-masterliquid-ml240l-rgb-667-cfm-liquid-cpu-cooler-mlw-d24m-a20pc-r1. Anyway, this will be a great gaming build, especially if you overclock, and the 6 core performs great for school!

Edit: and for GPU a 1070 ti will be perfect for steady 60FPS max settings 1440p gaming and it will bring your total to around $1400.

Seems kinda expensive imo

Do you know anything about these

DeepCool RGB 350

I think they're pretty good for the price, but I got them for $16 at the time.. they might lower.

u/Zodiac____ · 1 pointr/buildapc

Well, with normal RGBs it would be a virtual button in your PC you need to press.

If you want a physical button you can get something like this which comes with a remote. For changing to super saiyan it would be two button presses though, one for the color to yellow and one to set it to flicker/breathing.

  • Get the Msi z270 carbon pro, a lot cheaper and can OC just as good

  • Don't bother with the vengeance RAM sticks. They light up, but with RGB fans and a $20 RGB LED strip, you'll have more than enough light.

  • Opt for the 1080 ti SC2 edition from EVGA. Has the same ICX cooling technology and is around $719. Just doesn't light up, but once again, hardly noticeable with RGB fans and LEDs.

  • There are cheaper fans than the noctua ones. Corsair AF140 mm Fans are much cheaper, silent and have more lights than a military base on full alert.

  • You can get a mid-tower ATX case if you get a ATX z270 motherboard, mid-towers are usually between $50-$90
