Here.. This is Dell U2414H. It has super slim bezels which I also love. Had them for a while. I would get something with higher refresh rate or panel size, though!

u/ddonuts4 · 6 pointsr/buildapcsales

These are only 1920x1080 panels, but they do have a smaller bezel, also these regularly sell for $220 on amazon, so this isn't the greatest deal.

haha, I figured that's what you meant. I couldn't pass up the quick answer back.

It is a Dell. It is rather expensive at around $260 on Amazon, but given its nice IPS panel that is not too bad.
You may be able to get a better deal somewhere else.

u/SirPorkinsMagnificat · 5 pointsr/PS4

Refresh rate will be fine. Make sure you set the output to full RGB or colors will be washed out. As noted below, the biggest issue is that this will upscale 1080p to 1440p which requires interpolation. Sadly the PS4 Pro can't output at 1440p either, only 4k or 1080p. If you don't want a bit of pixel blurring, you could look around for a 1080p monitor instead. I have a U2414H (24" 1080p) which is amazing for gaming on the PS4.

u/pablojohns · 4 pointsr/Dell

WHO did you purchase it from on Amazon? That is key.

If you bought it from Dell (where it sells the seller is "Dell" or "sold and fulfilled by Amazon"), then you should be covered. If it was sold by a 3rd party retailer (3rd party from Amazon), then you may not be covered. The page you linked has the seller as "Sold by Prime-Computer and Fulfilled by Amazon," which means you are not eligible for the 3 year warranty under Dell's terms. If you bought this monitor which is sold from and shipped by Amazon, you would be eligible.

You can easily check this by looking at the purchase receipt/invoice on Amazon. Amazon aggregates customer comments: so just because someone else commented that they're under a 3 year warranty does not guarantee that you are covered by the same if purchased through a different seller on Amazon.

EDIT: If you did not purchase it per the specs I listed above, I am sorry, but you're probably out of luck. Next time, do a bit of research on warranties/price matching/coverages, and you will see that purchasing from a retailer-1st party (Dell.com, Dell sold on and shipped by Amazon) is the key to preserving the 1st party warranty offered by these companies. Just because Amazon purchasers leave reviews and/or answers do not mean they necessarily apply to you.

I love it for these reasons:

DisplayPort: YOu can daisy chain displayport monitors (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GTV05XG) or buy a MST hub. This will give you the 2 1080pscreen setup that is best for programming. Visual Studio allows you to dock your windows on different monitors so it becomes awesome! Supposedly the i7 should support more displays but 2+ the Surface 3 screen is good enough for me. I heard the i5 can support three 1080p displays but I haven't tried it yet.

Logitech Unifying Receiver: I started using this with my Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga. Simply it allows you to pair a lot of devices with the same single receiver (i have 5 paired). This way when you are mobile you can use your mobile wireless mouse with the device. When you get to your desk your wireless keyboard and mouse at the desk are already synced with the same receiver so you can use a real "coding" keyboard. I'm in love with this setup.

Dock: Ethernet, possibly a different thermal profile (not confirmed) and extra USB ports. I think this is a good investment.

I actually replaced my desktop with my Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga in the past and now with the Surface Pro 3. I am thinking about returning it for the i7 though because I am greedy. Either way both devices are i5 and perform admirably when using Visual Studio 2012/3/4 RC. Visual Studio's dialogs are async now and the performance is more bound by your disk speed than the processor or memory. SSDs FTW. I say go for it because I have no regrets! I am a Microsoft Certified Trainer, courseware author and developer myself and this is my road machine and home machine. My desktop is simply a Hyper-V Server 2012 R2 box that hosts test and dev VMs.

3x Dell UltraSharp 24'

I had them as part of my previous build, so I forgot to include them - my bad!

u/Ry-Fi · 3 pointsr/buildapcsales

Dell UltraSharp U2414H 23.8” monitor is on sale for $149.99 on Amazon right now. Thinking about pulling the trigger. I know they aren't great gaming monitors, but I love the thin bezels. I play primarily PUBG and Total War games....any reason not to pull the trigger? Better comparable monitors? I'm gaming on an R9 280, so not the fanciest of GPUs, and my current monitor is an old Hannspree with 5ms response time, as an FYI.

They didn’t have the monitor I was looking for on pcpartpicker, but where’s a link on amazon ($218, bringing total to $1379) - https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00GTV05XG/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1527101946&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=dell+ultrasharp+monitor&dpPl=1&dpID=415ZTLNPmqL&ref=plSrch

If you didn't buy the mac yet then I suggest you wait a little bit, Apple is supposed to update the mac line before the end of the year you may get a better deal. As for the monitor there is a Dell monitor that I think will work for you let me find the link and I will post it here.

Edit: this is the monitor sadly is $210 I thought it was cheaper

u/lambgobbler · 2 pointsr/macsetups

I liked the thin bezels on the U2414H, also If I ever thought of going dual monitors I figured it could be handy. It's also 2 years newer. The 16:10 aspect ratio would be nice too, But it's really up to you.

PS check Amazon's prices, the U2414H is $267 on there with prime shipping, as is the U2412M at $265.

My work upgraded my Mac, and I got a new monitor. The i5 has REALLY improved VM performance over the C2D I had before. I love upgrading all the Macs I have had, and yet I've been really surprised how satisfying the nearly non-upgradable Retinas are. Really feels worth the sacrifice to me, but maybe that is because work paid for this one ;-).

New objects are listed below, and here is the link to my original album before, which details the other parts in this workspace:

I recommend the Dell UltraSharp U2412H. It's a 23.8" IPS panel that sports HDMI (for PS4 and whatever else), DisplayPort (for most video cards if you have a desktop), mini-DisplayPort (for many laptops), and MHL (for mobile devices) ports, as well as touting "the world's thinnest display border."

The UltraSharp line is pretty famous for its color reproduction and is the go-to standard for many a PC gamer, and for good reason. If you're looking for a monitor for PS4 and don't need anything bigger than a 23.8" display, you absolutely should consider going with this one.

u/lazy-zebra · 2 pointsr/computers

I found this one. which seems to have a usb 3.0 hub in it, I am in America, so I am not sure on the availability in your friend's country

u/Analbub · 2 pointsr/Monitors

The 1060 max-q isn't powerful enough for gaming at 1440p on any new or demanding game, so I wouldn't recommend it unless you plan on upgrading in the future or plan on building a desktop at some point that is more powerful. Also if you primarily game I would recommend 144hz over 1440p. I would stick with either 1080p 60 hz or 1080p 144hz, but the 1060 probably won't be able to fully use that 144hz on most games. I have the msi gs65, which has 1060 max-q as well, and it has a 1080p 144hz panel in it, and I get 100 fps and above on less demanding games, but any AAA or graphically intensive game struggles to get above 60. My final thoughts before recommendations would be an ips or va panel over a tn, because the response time downgrade is (imo) worth it for the amazing color reproduction. Also at 144hz i find that g-sync and freesync are not that useful and find the additional price not worth it. If you are only gaming and doing competitive games then TN is fine though. Anyway, here are my recommendations

If you aren't into competitive games and want good colors for watching videos and/or photo editing:

1080p 60hz: Dell U2414H

1080p 144hz: Acer ED273

If you are into competitive gaming and want the fastest response time here are a few options:

AOC G2460PF

Viewsonic XG2402

Acer XFA240

u/blax3k · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

If you're looking for dual monitors, I've got two Dell U2414H's that I'm extremely happy with. Beyond that, any monitor with decent reviews should suit your needs.

u/Flying_Spaghetti_ · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

Depends how much you want to spend. Ideally something thats quality + has thin edges. So this Acer would be a good low cost option. Or if you want something really high quality (still 1080p) you could go with this dell ultrasharp.

u/Brisden · 1 pointr/buildapc

I've begun my quest to build my first PC. At the moment I'm in the learning stage, and I hope to order in February once my grad school apps are finished. My budget should hopefully be $1000 or so, depending on what my research turns up that I'll need to play games like Skyrim, Witcher, and TW:W.

My simple question for now is whether or not my current monitor can run games like those listed above at 60fps given the right primary hardware.

I briefly had the Asus VG248QE (a day) which has a TN panel. Colors were just awful, considering that I paid $250 for it, I couldn't stomach the terrible color reproduction. Banding and dithering was painfully obvious. Needless to say, having not spoiled myself with 144Hz gaming, I decided to stick with a 60Hz monitor and went with two Dell U2414H's to replace my returned VG248QE. Beautiful, crisp colors, on a vibrant IPS display that just produces a great visual for your eyes to feast on. All wrapped up in some of the thinnest bezels in the business which would be a big plus if you're thinking triple. With a wealth of inputs (no DVI unfortunately but it didn't matter in my case, DVI to HDMI cable does the trick) and a reasonable price, I would definitely recommend it. This review might sway you one way or another. I'll also add that they're VESA compatible making them perfect for mounting.

Go with the Macbook Pro without the touchbar. Save the money its somewhat flashy but the extra $200 is not worth it.

My thoughts are this. Grab a Macbook Pro non touchbar from the Apple Referb Store you can find the 256GB models in there for the price of the 128 (they come in an Apple Box with a 1 year warranty and are usually just apple canceled orders)

Then take the extra $200 dollars and by a good monitor and then you can hook up to it when you are not away an need the extra space.

Example referb (silver, they usually have the gray ones just not at the moment, changes all the time) https://www.apple.com/shop/product/FLUQ2LL/A/Refurbished-133-inch-Macbook-Pro-20GHz-Dual-core-Intel-Core-i5-with-Retina-Display-Silver

u/larae_is_bored · 1 pointr/Surface

Can't say much about the refresh rate as I think it could vary a great deal based on your monitor types. I have two of these monitors and they work great. I have them daisy chained up to my SP3 docking station (with SP4 spacer). So whenever I load in my SP4, the monitors wake up and connect automatically. The only issue I had was sometimes if I left the SP4 docked and it falls asleep, when I wake it up the monitors wouldn't register right. This only happened occasionally and even then, all I had to do was re-dock it.

Yes even with two screens, the third surface monitor is still available to use. I even heard it can power a 4th screen without issue from another user on this sub.

As for displays, I have 1 of these at home that i've been quite happy with: https://www.amazon.com/Dell-UltraSharp-U2414H-Screen-Monitor/dp/B00GTV05XG/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1526937837&sr=8-4&keywords=dell+ultrasharp+24

u/EvenJesusGotDrunk · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

To be honest, the 970 will not power a 1440p or a 144Hz monitor to it's proper extent. For your 970 I would look into a high quality IPS such as this :http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GTV05XG

For reference, I've played Just Cause 3 on 1440p 60Hz max settings and The Witcher 3 on medium-high settings. I got some major lag/stutter with a GTX 980 during The Witcher 3. It depends on the game. Bottom line I wouldn't buy either monitor without a new graphics card. Just stick with the 1080p you have (I'm assuming you have a 1080p).

u/dragonandphoenix · 1 pointr/Monitors

Honestly, I decided to wait until new Nvidia GPUs come out, BUT I am def going to get one of the Dell Ultrasharp series. I am going to get this 24 inch:

I've researched for a while & really asked to question b/c I didn't see them listed as much as some others, but IMO they are the best. I also like the ASUS equivalents as well. Most of what I see are monitors catered towards gaming, and that is great but I also want to have kickass colors & build quality.

To me, my requirements were met with the Ultrasharp series. I have seen some in person and they're awesome. Other monitors in the same category do go on sale more often, but to me the fact that the Ultrasharps do not go on sale is indicative of their quality. I don't need any quicker than 60hz and I really don't want to invest in one of those obligatory Korean Qnix reccomended monitors because you could get a bad panel, and the build quality isn't stellar, plus the Dell's are introductory graphic design monitor too.

My two cents.

What's your budget? The monitor I tend to recommend people is this one: https://www.amazon.com/Dell-UltraSharp-U2414H-Screen-Monitor/dp/B00GTV05XG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1482949948&sr=8-2&keywords=dell+ultrasharp+24

Tiny, tiny bezels, minimal design, and a great panel.

If bezel size is of no concern to you and you'd like to pay less, you can still get a fantastic panel from Asus for even cheaper: https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VS248H-P-1920x1080-Back-lit-Monitor/dp/B0058UUR6E

I own 4 of those (in our house) and can vouch for them.

Monitor: Dell UltraSharp U2414H

https://www.amazon.com/Dell-UltraSharp-U2414H-Screen-Monitor/dp/B00GTV05XG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1505264413&sr=8-1&keywords=dell+u2414

Stand: VIVO Dual Mount

The monitors I love. I bought them both without stands for $200 each. The stand is nice as well, but the adjustability is a tad difficult, but awesome for the price. I would maybe get another stand later on thats nice.

So 144hz gaming is amazing. There really is no going back once you have seen it.

...That being said. HDMI 1.3 is required for 144hz even @ 1080p. DVI-D can in theory push that bandwidth but I cannot stress enough to check the manual of that monitor to see what ports it actually supports 144hz on and make sure your video card has that revision port.

I am not trying to belittle your budget but at that price range I am left to assume you may not be running a GTX 1080. If you currently don't achieve greater than 60 fps in games then there will be no benefit to a monitor running @ 144hz.

If you get a nice steady ~60hz at your preferred quality settings, might I suggest a IPS panel? You would benefit from a great picture quality and color accuracy.

https://www.amazon.com/Dell-UltraSharp-U2414H-Screen-Monitor/dp/B00GTV05XG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1480088511&sr=8-2&keywords=dell+ips

u/MrFiskers · 1 pointr/buildapc

Dell Ultrasharps are probably the most high end 1080p 60hz IPS monitors.

u/GoodStand · 1 pointr/buildapc

There are a lot of other factors going into determining a good panel then whether or not it is an IPS.

That being said if you're looking for a ~24 in. 1080p monitor then I would check out the Dell U2414H. Now I don't own this monitor so I can't attest to very much about it, but I am in the same boat that you are. I am looking to buy it pretty soon for a triple monitor setup due to it's very thin vertical bezels and (being a Dell Ultrasharp) good color reproduction.

There are probably a ton of other people on this sub who know more about monitors than I do, so take my opinion with a grain of salt :)

This is the Dell Ultrasharp U2414H. It seems to be a pretty popular monitor. 1080p IPS. Colors are supposed to be fantastic on it.

u/dax331 · 1 pointr/buildapc

From what I've personally seen, the U2414H is the king for that. Dell probably has some kind of updated model of the U2414H so look out for that. I'd personally go for it for the small bezels alone.

Anyways, if you have the ability to adjust and rotate monitors, then it probably uses a VESA mount. These days, you'd be hard pressed to find a monitor (that isn't a crappy cheap OEM one) that isn't using VESA standards.

And those different models seem to cater to different needs. Ex. The P22 in P2217H refers to Premiercolor Professional, which is handy for video/image editing and office work, things like that, while the 22 refers to the inches the monitor has. Also, I think the letter on the end means what aspect ratio it is, in this case H = 16:9.

u/darkharibo · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

If you want to buy a monitor exclusively for a Switch, then I don't really see the point of choosing a 144Hz one - this refresh rate is just going to be wasted as I can't for the love of me ever see the Switch outputting more than 60 fps. No benefits here.

You linked to a TN panel monitor in your other post, I'd personally suggest at least considering getting an IPS one - the colours are so much better and so is the viewing angle. The only con to them is a higher response time - we're talking around 7-8 ms. Whether it matters - I can't tell you, as every person on the internet has a different opinion. However it definitely does not matter if you're not going into highly competitive gaming.

Also - if you're going to sit somewhat closely to this monitor (like you'd normally do), then 24 inch is definitely considered the sweet spot, just as 27 is for 1440p.

If I were to recommend anything, based on what I've typed so far - consider https://www.amazon.ca/Dell-UltraSharp-U2414H-23-8-Monitor/dp/B00GTV05XG ; 1080p, 24 inch, IPS, 8ms response time, 2 HDMI inputs (+other). I personally got it for the same purpose and I can absolutely recommend it. Edit: Just noticed that its price on amazon.ca is absolutely ridiculous - it's 225 American dollars on amazon.com, very similar price in Europe, so I reckon it should cost roughly the same in Canada.

Just ran into your post since I am looking for a monitor for my mom for christmas. I'd like to stick in the 24" range, preferably get her her first IPS panel. Would love to see what people have to say.

I was looking at this > http://www.amazon.com/Dell-UltraSharp-U2414H-23-8-Monitor/dp/B00GTV05XG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1417118221&sr=8-1&keywords=U2414H

I was in almost the exact same situation as you.

I had a GTX 960 (Which I upgraded to a 1060 for this monitor) and a 16:9 60Hz IPS display (This One), Considered either #1 or #2 best choice depending on who you ask for 60Hz, IPS, 16:9 displays.

Was it a worthy and noticeable upgrade? Yes. Yes it was. It was much more noticeable then I tought it ever would be. You can check out my First Impressions after using it. Ultimately was one of the best and most noticeable upgrades I have done and I would recommend that upgrade to anyone.

I ended up paying $150 + $10 shipping for mine, so the exact same price as you as well.

As far as getting this and using it for over 6 years, I personally see no reason why you couldn't. Most media is going to stay 1080p as a standard for another 3-5 years guaranteed.

Edit: Also keep in mind this monitor can overclock to 75Hz. Not every single one, it depends on silicon lottery... But there's a decent chance yours can. Mine was able to and I can definitely feel a difference in games between 60 and 75.

I’m just using the Apple USB-C multimedia adapter with HDMI for one display. The other is just a HDMI to USB-C cable.

I get full resolution and refresh rates, 1920x1080 at 60Hz.

Okay, this seems like a really awesome idea and kinda fun so a few things I have still been indecisive on:

• An RGB mechanical keyboard

-Cheap is nice

-I'm looking at the Corsair K70;

• An RGB Mouse

I hear really good things about the Dell UltraSharp line.

I have two of the 27 inch version and I am really happy with them and the mini display port cable will work in the thunderbolt port, and most people say it looks better than the thunderbolt monitor apple puts out

Hey guys, I would love to hear your opinion on some monitor choices. I'm thinking about getting a second monitor because I found out doing work with several windows open at once is irritating haha.

Right now I have a Dell U2414h and I was thinking if I should just get another one because of that sexy bezel and matching monitors is always super nice.

However, I do play games quite a bit and was also thinking of of getting either a 144hz monitor or a 1440p monitor. The main issue here for me is that I don't think I would be able stand nonmatching monitors.

So I'm left with with three choices

  • Get another U2414H and get that glorious aesthetic and uniformity with matching monitors.

  • Get a 144 hz monitor that might kinda match up with the Dell U2414h and only be slightly different in size or slightly different pixel density.

  • Get a 1440p monitor and say screw it and have 0 uniformity at all. Moving windows between monitors would look something like this I think. That would annoy me.

I could just say screw it and spent as much as I did on my computer and get a 1440p 144hz G-Sync Ultrawide monitor or something, but that's another dream for another time and I'm poor.

    Thanks

Is the Dell U2414H a good monitor for gaming?

u/HeyBossBehindMe · 1 pointr/buildapc

So I did a little digging. I'm nearly positive I have this, 2012 Macbook Pro

I'm going to get the following with it, but cannot decide on a monitor.

USB Splitter

Keyboard and mouse

Then the following of two monitors,

Monitor 1

This has a Mini DP cable, which according to the spec's of my laptop I can just plug it directly in.

or

Monitor 2

with a HDMI to lightning port.

I'm struggling to see the difference between the two monitors. Why is one so much more expensive when they are roughly the same size/quality and the cheaper one even has speakers! Just don't want to fall for any Black Friday scams trying to get a high quality item.

I figured with my last lightning port i can get another adapter to a monitor or another monitor similar to this.

u/starcz · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Yes, its his!

The monitor is a hand-down from my setup. It's a Dell UltraSharp - U2414H!.

The keyboard is an Aukey!

u/Heimertz · 1 pointr/Monitors

Here is where I ordered it from, I think Dell is at $269.99, if you prefer to go straight from them. Either way, it is quite an impressive monitor.

u/thegenuinebbuck · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Pretty much all dell momitors. I personally own this one: Dell UltraSharp U2414H 23.8" Inch Screen LED Monitor https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GTV05XG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_JLIHybWJSV6RM Fairly good IPS panel imo. I also own another dell monitor with a 4k screen and can do the rotation. IPS is good for this sort of thing because it won't distort the color like doing this with a TN panel would.
