You take the rain head off and put this in line. Then you can switch from one to the other :)
You might want to wrap threads in teflon tape but this is something pretty much anyone can do themselves.
I purchased a T fitting that allows you to use two shower heads, and switch the water between the two. It works great. It is universal, so it should work with most handheld showers.
