Diablo 3 base is also on sale for $19.99

Use the original product page: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00178630A

Oh, but then you wouldn't get your referral bonus, would you??

  1. Yeah but they are kidding themselves if they revamp core parts of the game during the beta.

  2. Blizzard is known for releasing games "When it's ready". Diablo 3 is Not this. It was released prematurely.

And so May 2012 to December 2012 became the real beta-testing. Obviously the game's Not ready.

First days of Diablo 3, the Always-Online requirement failed many players because they cannot login the game "they rented". It sent them to rate Diablo 3 in Amazon.com with lots of ★☆☆☆☆

Just a heads up, this isn't actually expired. Amazon is temporarily out of stock, but you can still order it at $19.99 and it'll ship in 2-4 weeks. You can add it to cart from here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00178630A/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new&qid=1394407880&sr=8-1

The game is currently on sale at Amazon for $20 base game and $20 expansion. I think this is the lowest it has been.

again the game was a financial success but only financially. Many felt the quality was subpar and shaked their faith in Blizzard. Now with Diablo Immortal the bridge looks to be completely burned

To be fair, expecting to play a game you just purchased doesn't make you entitled. It's not like Blizzard doesn't have any experience for massive release days (WOW). If you sell 12 million copies and aren't able to support that many players after touting online only as some great (non-DRM) feature, maybe they should have limited the amount of copies sold. If this were any other company (or industry) you'd get the same feedback. Also, lol, it's rating went up to 2 stars.

User reviews are a little easy to game. The second a group of internet users gets offended about something, a ton of people vote 1/10 on a game that they haven't played or doesn't deserve a 1.

Some examples:
http://www.amazon.com/Diablo-III-Pc/dp/B00178630A

http://www.amazon.com/Electronic-Arts-71238-Battlefield-Download/dp/B005WWZUQ0

http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/simcity

While the above games are certainly controversial, none of them deserve a true editorial 1/10. However, a ton of people gave a 1.

it supports multi-player. but has definite solo achievements for the Seasonals,

If you wanted to get a 4pk, get 4 codes from battlenet or whatever.
D3 alone is only 17 bucks for PC

consoles can't even get just D3 I don't think.. or maybe PS3/360 can, but PS4 and XBO only got Ultimate Evil (D3+RoS) since day one I think.

My favorite game is... generally an RPG or puzzle game (it kind of changes, depending on how I am feeling). Morrowind, Pokemon Yellow, Dragon Age, and Papo & Yo will always have a special place in my heart though.

  • A PC Game:

Civ V: I really want to play this game with my SO. He loves it, and he thinks it is right up my alley (since I love strategy games, and loved playing Risk). We live about two hours by bus away from each other, and he plays Civ more than anything else right now. It would be nice to have virtual date nights, where we can destroy (or help) each other and other countries, in the name of entertainment!

OR Diablo III: I love, love, love Diablo. It's fun, the world is immense and awesome, and the bosses are great! It's great to explore, and kill monsters, AND SO MANY other things.

I would be beyond thrilled to get either of these games, as both are ones I have wanted for awhile! For PC games, it is best to buy new, since most require a code to let you install it now.

Used ones are as low as $15. I'm sure you could scrape some spare change to get that amount of money.

Depending on where you are located outside the US, you may still be able to get release day shipping. To check, you have to sign in to amazon and there should be a link just under the price on the amazon page for Diablo 3 to see if there is release day shipping at your location.

>Can you elaborate why you think D3 is such a failure?

I thought some of the top rated Amazon reviews of the game were pretty well written and did a good job of summarizing what went wrong.

Here you go: Clicky

u/Ralathar44 · 1 pointr/heroesofthestorm

The original Diablo 2 could stand a few modernizations (graphics being foremost) but by no means would I call it a bad game. It still stands strong even by modern standards as very good game design.

It would be very difficult to pick out any significant flaws with it and the liklihood that any significant flaws you pick out of it would also apply to Diablo 3 and other ARPG's is very high.

> na i didnt think most players where in defense of diablo 3

You must have forgotten the #$%^ storm that happened at the release of that game. You couldn't say a single negative thing about it without being massively dogpiled. Regardless of whether it was a forum or on youtube or on a review or in game. Just utterly and massively annihilated by a sheer mass of game supporters who ironically said the same concerns months later lol.

Oh and here, go and read a few reviews:

Yeah, I'm sure it's all nostalgia sarcasm. I'm not going to argue you further than this though, because if I wanted to smash something against a wall I'd be testing car crashes....not posting on the internet.

u/vplatt · 1 pointr/gamernews

Well, it sounds like you're mostly content with their direction. I can see how it might work for some. But, as for listening to the community, they simply didn't. Their reviews are abysmal. Any survey of a wider beta audience would have told them that they weren't on the mark if they had bothered to listen. I suspect Wilson is simply the fall guy for corporate mandates that were forced through from the top-down, so I don't buy that the real problem is solved until it actually is.

Don't get me wrong: I'm glad they're improving the game. But at this point, the whole experience around them is so tarnished that it's going to be hard for them to get back the trust they once enjoyed.

That's a link that shows all the people selling it. If you scroll past the featured merchants until you hit the "New" category, the prices start at about $39 with $4 shipping.

Gamestop and Amazon both have it for $20 right now in case someone is feeling generous. Sorry I can't get it for you, but I hope someone does, and I wish everything works out just fine for you.

u/Zenigen · 1 pointr/Diablo

D3 for $20.

D3 RoS for $35.

Protip: Blizzard store is almost always the most expensive price. Search around before buying from there.

u/DarkFlounder · 1 pointr/GameDeals

Amazon has pricematched both D3 and RoS at $19.99 each. Useful for those not near GameStop.

But I'm pretty sure it does come with a small manual inside if it is the physical box (I lost my box in a move :P).

There is no misconception that PC games are cheaper. If you can buy Skyrim Legendary Edition for $33 for PC and $43 for 360 then it is cheaper on the PC. Games at release may generally have the same price, but in the long run the PC version is almost always noticeably cheaper.

u/garhent · -1 pointsr/gaming

D3 is a piece of shit game. Read the actual reviews from people who play the game and not paid game reviewers. D3 has a 3.8 by end users for metacritic and a 40% for amazon. Its boring, repetitive, and the designers could not develop engaging combat if their first born's life depends on it. Spread FUD to get people to buy that crap game won't Blizzard not to repeat that kind of crap.
