Is there enough room in the case to use this Vk-172 Ublox USB GPS (vs an external puck)? Others have reported good reception with this device.

The GPS Dongle I used, as /u/gonggonggong said is this.
However, I would NOT reccommend using it.
Like I said in one of my comments it caused me about 4 hours of trial and error to get it to work. I would suggest looking at GPSD supported hardware site here to see what is going to work easily for you. They have a lot of options.
