Well, let me give you some historical context since we're all just going by how we "feel" here.

John Tyler ran on a platform of defending slavery and then road the party line until elected. He then COMPLETELY abandoned his party platform after becoming president. Pretty shitty to me.

Millard Fillmore backed the Compromise of 1850 which had a ton of implications on the Southern secession and again defended slavery.

Andrew Johnson vetoed the 14th Amendment (it's the amendment that allows due process). He wanted to be able to prosecute ANYONE despite citizenship. Why? This amendment called freedmen (freed slaves) citizens. That didn't sit too well with AJ.

Warren G Harding, my fave on the list, because he is the LAMEST of lame duck Presidents. Typically why Obama is criticized. The difference? Warren G, here, allowed his corrupt friend to pillage the US Treasury while Warren was playing poker with some friends.

James Buchanan also sucked for slavery reasons and he has the scariest bust of any US President ever.

Obama wasn't even in the bottom 10 worst presidents even when you look at it through whatever lens you think you're looking through. He passed bills that he was elected to pass and is iconic just for being the first black president. That makes a difference.

Please buy this and read it. See the US through a historical lens, not your Atlanta, Georgia, down home 27 year old lens.

I thought don’t know much about history was pretty helpful and a good refresher link! I also highly recommend the presidential and constitutional podcasts from the Washington post.

Something I used a ton this year for lessons was the reading like a historian curriculum from Stanford-awesome lessons built around primary sources!

You're welcome. One thing on math -- don't let your self think that you'll never use it again after passing tests, because it's not really true. Algebra teaches you how to problem solve and physics teaches you how things move in space. Just the other day I was sitting in traffic when a guy drove by me rather fast while hauling a trailer loaded down with bricks. I slowed down to avoid the inevitable accident when he had to hit the brakes and that mass of bricks kept the car moving forward like it was on rails, then bam! So study it all, I promise you it will come in handy throughout your life.

Not sure how much history is on the GED, but here's a couple of easy, breezy books to help you get through it:

The History of the World in 6 Glasses talks about how beer, wine, spirits, coffee, tea and Coca Cola helped to shape our world. https://www.amazon.com/History-World-6-Glasses/dp/0802715524/ref=sr_1_1?crid=RLRKWTQUZJPH&keywords=history+of+the+world+in+six+glasses&qid=1570998109&sprefix=history+of+the+w%2Caps%2C513&sr=8-1

Good luck op. I think you have more on the ball than you think you do. PM me if you need any study guidance.
