I'm loving these poles so far. Great price for the quality.
Kelty Cosmic Down is a great down bag that comes in lots of flavors. Not sure how cold it gets at night in Australia. A down quilt would be a good option if it's warm at night. This is a good down throw a lot of people use as a summer quilt.

As for tents and sleeping pads, that depends on how you sleep and if you're looking for a 1 or 2 person tent. The weather also is a factor for sleeping pads.

The down throw blankets are popular, made popular at Costco. They are pretty cheap and quite light. They aren't super warm, but as a throw or extra warmth thing I think it would work well. You'll have to get 1 per person, as they are kinda small.
Just make sure no sparks from the fire get on it - it will quickly create a hole. If fire time is a real use then I would consider wool or fleece blanket.

I'm thinking it's this? I guess it's sold at Costco as well for like $20 or something.

I often bring a fold up sleeping mat like a z-rest that I cut down to sit down on. You can also sit on the mats, but that can be dangerous. sitting on the ground or rocks is cold.

I also have a down throw

I get wrapped up in that between climbs. Keeps my feet warm.

Usually I'll go to bed with my down and strip it off once I'm warm. A few nights ago we were in 10 degree weather and I just slept in my merino base layers. I have a bag liner - the thermarest light one - and it makes a noticeable difference. If you go with the quilt, the liner will help keep the cold air out.

Keep in mind that right now no one is in the shelters. For the most part the shelters will be clear for the majority of your hike. I sent my tent home and have been going shelter to shelter for about a month now. This allows me to carry the heavier bag and keep a light pack. The big agnes bags are nice because they skip the down filling on the bottom and have a spot to slide your pad into. That way you save weight, get warmth from the down on top and rely on your pad for warmth on the bottom. It works.

I was happy with my 20 quilt to begin with... but quite frankly if your trying to save cash this would be a very interesting option. I found a down throw on amazon for 40 bucks. It's light, packs really well, and is warm. You will definitely get away with that and a liner through maine to probably the beginning of VA. That way when you hit colder weather, have your mummy bag sent out, keep your liner, and send back the throw.

Hmm, what makes you assume that? I always assume North American on English speaking boards 'cause the vast majority of native English speaking world is here.

Oceania regularly gets stuck pretty bad. I work for a Kiwi company and every time we have folks from there in the office they always strategize out and order a bunch of stuff off of Amazon to be delivered during their stay because bringing it back in checked baggage is cheaper than having it delivered to AU.

On the other hand, I'll bet you have wool providers down there like we could only dream of, right?

Personally, I don't have a Costco membership, so I'd have to buy them online for twice the price plus the down is only(!) 700 FP, so I just get down from Wilderness Logic and cloth from RSbtR and eat the inflated prices.

It's one of these. However, at Costco (US) they're only like 20 bucks!

It's May dude, it's not going to get that cold.

Where are you that you'll be that cold?

I wouldn't use a mylar blanket because that might get noisy if you move around in your sleep. You could always get something like this for the inside of your sleep system but you'll probably get super hot. Like other people said, sleep system and woobie should be good.

Personally I like a thermarest sleeping pad.
