I'm a huge fan of the Dymo 450 Turbo. It's pretty standard.
As for labels, I use HouseLabels labels. They're much more affordable. I used to use the 30252 labels (1 1/8" x 3 1/2"). However, I just switched to 30334 (2 1/4" x 1 1/4") and I love the size, plus it prints even faster (being horizontal instead of vertical. And it is a better size for the cosmetics. You also get 3,000 labels per roll, compared with 350. Much less frequent switching.

I imagine it like this. Except it would print onto post-its instead of shipping labels. Maybe Bluetooth so I can print from my phone as well.
I got a Dymo 450 for under $40 on eBay, but I think current listings are closer to $50-60 (Amazon has the 450 Turbo for $50 right now). If you do eBay and Amazon, a Dymo 4XL might be a better investment because it can do USPS, UPS, Fedex, and FBA labels. You'd have to buy labels separately for both, but they're fairly cheap on eBay. I believe an alternative is the Zebra LP2844? If you have a Mac, you'd be better off sticking with the Dymo because the Zebra can be difficult to set up on a Mac.
I don't know much about laser printers, but I think most run around $100. A lot of people will tell you thermals are better because no toner to replace.

The Label Printer is good really, but it has three drawbacks: first, the label roll can occasionally get stuck. Even the use guide has foreseen that this happens and the solution is to uncover the front part to eliminate the paper jam. This is a disadvantage because removing the lid is not very intuitive and because the electronic card with the power LED to leave exposed and unprotected. If you are not careful with that, you can damage them accidentally. Second, the software is outstanding but sometimes generates conflicts with the Microsoft Office program and you must uninstall and install it again. Third, the connection of the power cable and the data cable is quite uncomfortable, the manufacturer repeated the same design error that other label printers have in that sense (as in the case of Zebra that I have used). This aspect is easy to solve by making the rear connection easier and cleaner. The exterior design of the printer is sober and compact. All the outer shell is made of plastic that makes it light and easy to transport.. The price-benefit ratio is good. The seller made shipping on time and the product was received on time. The product arrived in good condition.

For printing shipping labels, I would go w/ a thermal printer.
