Full instructions on Head-Fi here: LINK

Instructions off the Lawton website: LINK

I followed the instructions off Head Fi and did all but the addition of cotton (which is not recommended I guess) and applying the Dynamat on the front side of the driver (underneath the foam on the perforated plastic ring).

Tools and bits needed:

  • Screw driver -small philips - I used one I had for my computer

  • Dynamat 10" x 10" sheet: Amazon LINK

  • Hole Punch (not necessary but makes things easier to an extent): Amazon LINK - I think the one got was a piece of shit...

  • Pair of scissors

  • A pen or pencil for marking stuff

  • ~30 - 60 minutes (difficulty level: simple - average)

    Initial impressions:

  • Bass is less bloated (still packs a wallop but now it's a bit more lean).

  • Mids and Highs, haven't noticed much difference to be honest. It's hard to go back and A/B test this since the Dynamat is essentially bonded to the cups/drivers now (it's basically rubber putty).

I would not recommend coaxials. Pull out your factory tweeters and door speakers and replace them with a set of components. Even some of the lesser expensive components offer a better sound stage than coaxials due to the highs and mids being separated and the highs being located off the floor.

I wouldn't worry about the rears. Just turn them mostly down. They don't matter.

The power from your Android deck is one thing I was concerned with. Like most car decks it probably puts out around 10 to 15 watts RMS per channel. Max power figures in car audio don't matter at all. Regardless, there's nothing you can do about this for now. Just buy a set of components for the front, and I would put in some sound deadener in the door. There are videos on YouTube showing how this works. It will add a tremendous amount of clarity and mid bass.

Here's an example of a deadener that you would apply to the door panel.

uhhh, check it out, it's stupid simple to put Dynamat in your car yourself, they come as "self-adhesive" panel. All you would need to do, is take off your door panel, which is incredibly simple, once you do that, you then put the Dynamat panel behind the speaker placement, it's that simple.

Step one: order some Dynamat http://www.amazon.com/Dynamat-10415-Self-Adhesive-Deadener-Speaker/dp/B00020CATC/ref=sr_1_5?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1458847012&sr=1-5&keywords=dynamat

Step two: Youtube (if you don't already know how) how to remove your car model door panel

Step three: Apply Dynamat (video of how to)

Honestly, I speak from experience from installing this before myself, it's very simple, and i didn't use anywhere near the amount they show in the video; my audio setup in my truck at the time was pretty beastly; and i never had any vibration.
