So you're going to need an A/C adapter.

The one I use

Canon official

You need a mini HDMI cable. I purchased this adapter so my screen isn't completely covered and I can use any HDMI cable I have laying around.

That plugs into an Elgato Cam Link but any capture card should work.

Make sure the camera is set to video mode. I'm not at the camera now so I can't get you my exact settings but disable any auto shutoff and HDMI interface. There is no way to disable the side screen from shutting off after 30 minutes max.

Bonus: I've got it clamped to the back of my monitor with this mount.

The Brio can't even touch a DSLR in the quality it puts out. For the cost of getting a brio, and the proper lighting to make it not look like ass you can get the Canon up and running. I was using the Brio and I just switched to DSLR and here's what I use.

You obviously don't need the lens I use I just have a large room I am dedicating to streaming and making look nice so I wanted a wide angle. The power adapter works great. I even left my camera on and running over a weekend last week doing nothing. And the adapter is cheaper than the Brio alone.

So assuming you have any lens on your camera ~$135 and you're good to go. Yes you will still need lighting but you can get $10 worth of lighting a packing paper for a diffusion and be good if you have a camera with a larger sensor than any webcam can provide.

Here are two links to previous stream clips. One with the Brio and lighting the 2nd with my DSLR and the same lighting.

You can buy most of the above items on Ebay for cheaper if youre patient to wait on the shipping. I did and significantly cut down on the costs (WA-87 for 460 instead of 599 for an open box never used, 260 for a slightly used Yamaha MG12XU, etc)

I use 3 monitors, two 60hz 24” 1080p monitors plugged into my streaming PC. Then I use a 240hz 24” 1080p monitor (I recommend Dell or Asus) on my gaming PC. I use ONE mouse and keyboard to control both my gaming pc and streaming pc through the use of freeware called, “Input Director”

What I’ve linked for you is essentially my studio level setup except with faster PC’s. The 32 thread threadripper will shred through 1080p60fps encoding at medium/slow, BUT... depending on your urge I would wait until Ryzen 3 comes out and we can build a comparable/faster PC for the same or cheaper price.

Sure you could cut the streaming PC, trick out your gaming rig with a fewer higher end options that provide minimal performance increases, then drain your in-game performance significantly streaming on the same PC.

Good luck, the streaming setup above will set you apart from most of your peers but what I linked above is just the hardware, the artistic side I chose for the backdrop of my stream ran another 250-300 bucks.

Would need to know your laptop specs, but there's not a ton of overhead on those cam link boxes.

You'd also need an HDMI micro cable to connect the cam link to the A6300.

If you plan to use the camera in 4k, you might hit some thermal issues if you're running it hours on end, but I'm not sure since it won't actually be recording.

EDIT: Also, the camlink should only be like $100 USD. The one you linked is older and probably out of production (hence the higher price). https://www.amazon.com/Elgato-Cam-Link-Broadcast-Camcorder/dp/B07K3FN5MR?th=1 is probably what you want.

So first things first, to use a DSLR camera as a webcam you'll need a 3rd party device like the Elgato Camlink . This will let you stream through the camera on the OBS system.

Now for the mics, I would think the best way to set this up is using a computer that has multiple USB inputs so you could use each one directly to the OBS system. OBS should recognize each one and you can edit the amount of volume each one is hearing so one person isn't talking louder than the other. Now where you may run into an issue is if you don't have the appropriate number of USB ports and then you may want to look into tech that would gather all audio into one device and then send to the PC (a mixer of some sort).

During the live stream you should be able to set up a audio recording software (sorry, don't have recommendations for this) that runs in the background so you could still post your podcast after recording.

I've thought about doing this for my wife as well as she runs a podcast with 2 of her friends. If you find a good solution, make sure to post it so I can see and a picture of the setup! Enjoy!

I see. I just took a look at Amazon. There seems to be a lot of 1 stars in the reviews.

amazon.com/product-reviews/B07K3FN5MR/ref=acr_dp_hist_1?ie=UTF8&filterByStar=one_star&reviewerType=all_reviews#reviews-filter-bar

Why is that?

It's on sale for $100 on Amazon right now: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07K3FN5MR (for Black Friday. ends in 5 hours)

And it looks like that sale has driven down the Amazon Warehouse sale price as well: Used - Very Good for $92

Technically you can use the T7i but you can't just plug in the camera via USB into a computer to get a video feed. You'd need buy a capture card for your computer like this one and use the HDMI out from the T7i into the capture card.

Check out the Elgato Cam Link. It’s a USB dongle that accepts HDMI input and shows up as a webcam on the computer. It can be used in any app that supports a webcam. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07K3FN5MR/

They’re each plugged into an Elgato Cam Link. And we’re only streaming on twitch.
