Good choice!! I started reading those books when I was 13, and I was hooked! I'm a Stephen King nut, so as far as book series go, I'm going to recommend The Talisman and its sequel Black House which were collaborations of King's with Peter Straub. The Talisman in particular is very dear to me, it's my favorite novel. I must have read it at least 12 times.

I'll also recommend The Godspeaker Trilogy because you can never have too many warrior women who worship a blood-thirsty scorpion deity! Hope you like my suggestions, and happy reading!

I actually have the first book, The Name of the Wind, on my ipod touch... I think I started it but got distracted... I'll have to continue reading it I guess!

Also, I totally forgot to mention Karen Miller! I haven't read many of her novels, but if you like strong female main characters with magical abilities that seems to hate everything, def check her out!

I loved Empress of the Godspeaker trilogy - though yet another series I have not finished reading >.< This book had a little bit of a backlash from some readers though I think, because it doesn't follow the "good guy". This book is more of a prequel-esque origin story for the "unknown dark force" in the remaining novels.
