Try the big ISO websites like PJM (http://www.pjm.com/markets-and-operations/etools.aspx) NEISO, NEPOOL, CAISO, ERCOT. They have tons of info on generators and grids. An excellent general book on electricity and more generally energy trading is the book by Eydeland and whatshisname, and it's not outrageously overpriced either.
