Balliol College provide a reading list
As do Cambridge University
I definitely recommend (As do Balliol) Engineering Mathematics (or if you're comfortable with the material there is an advanced version) . It dips your toe into all of the mathematics you should study in your first year, it's a heavy book, but it will definitely give you an advantage when you start.
Hi,
I always recommend Atkins' Physical Chemistry by Atkins and De Paula, which was the recommended textbook for the majority of the physical chemistry courses during my degree. It is very thorough and its treatment of most topics goes beyond what is taught at undergraduate level. I would also recommend Engineering Mathematics by K.A Stroud, which covers all of the mathematics applied in undergraduate physical chemistry courses.

While you're still in the realm of plug'n'chug mathematics, which is what most college classes are until you get to upper level classes dealing with proofs and stuff; the key is to practise the plug'n'chug with problems.
KA stroud engineering mathematics is a very good resource of step by step problems to work through.
