I've done a little more digging and it appears that this is just the tip of the iceberg where it comes to this line of thought. First, I'll recommend the book that I just finished reading about the Enneagram of Process by Bennett called Enneagram Studies. He does a great job of explaining all of the complex, esoteric ideas of Gurdjieff in relatively simple to understand language, using real life examples. Then I googled around to see what else there might be pertaining to the connection of music theory and psychology, where I found this website and this examination of the Gurdieff's Enneagram The author believes that Gurdieff got the arrangement of the notes a bit wrong and should really start with the 2nd note, which would be the 9th note of a scale as well. By correcting this discrepancy, the Enneagram can now represent the Golden Ratio and makes a lot more musical sense among other things. The article is pretty short, so I'll let it speak for itself.

I looked around a bit more at this website and there are lots of interesting ideas to be found here, discussing the relatedness of all sorts of physical, musical, artistic, scientific, and archetypal concepts. The author, Richard Merrick also has a few books available to download for free that seem really interesting. I've just downloaded Interference and hope to read it soon, but it is some pretty complex material.
