I also put a towel on top of the hammock because my girls used to use it as a toilet and would only use it to poop and pee ๐ but they have kinda stopped doing that now.. I still put the towels there tho cause they seem to like it.
Im sure any hammock work though.. your guinea pigs probably just aren't used to it yet (it took me a couple days to teach them how to use it). Try putting food on top of the hammock as an attempt to lure them on it ๐ that's how I taught mine.
