this is a good post with very nice photos, but I have to point out that I can buy an EOTech 512 on amazon.com right now for $380.34 shipped.

Basically I think a more realistic hardcore would be fun, but some of these options would turn it into a simulation style game which doesn't fit the flow of battlefield, while others like battery life or hearing protection breaking aren't even possibilities in real life battles.
Surely for that discount on the AUG you could justify a couple hundred more
