A power strip can be slim, though. I've been using this setup since day one (with modifications along the way) and I can't imagine making it much slimmer besides wall mounting.

The strip could be replaced with some kind of charger, but the feet / base are already taking up X amount of space anyway, and the strip is within that X.

Regarding your current plan, I think this might work? 4A / 10 = 400mA, which might be just enough to keep the devices charged. This has a lot more amps, but it's pretty big.
