And a AIO/Air cooler of your choice. Given the budget, I'd say NH D15, Dark rock pro 3, or Corsair/NZXT liquid cooler

Yeah, good call. You may want to wait just a little for the aftermarket 1080 cards to drop with improved coolers and factory OC.

Last June I had an itchy trigger finger and bought a reference 980ti at launch. Fortunately, EVGA makes a hybrid cooler for the reference card, which I installed a couple months later. Under load, the cooler keeps the card at 40 degrees with a 1.4 GHz overclock. Keep an eye out, because EVGA may release one for the 1080 or you can buy the card with the hybrid cooler already installed. Just need some space to mount the radiator.

Hey, thanks! I was actually looking into something like this cooler for this EVGA card, but couldn't find something out there that told me it would fit for sure. Granted I just looked at it late last night, would you know anything about that? Also all the how to vids I could find were replacing the stock reference cooler :(

Word on the street says you can use a $60 Hybrid cooler for your FE 1080

Oh damn, that thing's a monster! This is what I have

I'm going AIO on my rig.

I have EVGA HYBRID Water Cooler (All in One) for GTX 980 Ti on my dual 980ti SLI. They go for $110 USD @ EVGA, and currently $80 USD on Amazon.

I'm planning on a CM Nepton 140xl for my cpu. Currently $102.91 USD on Amazon.

I like the no maintenance/factory guaranteed features.

The 980ti version will work on any reference 980 ti or Titan I think.

You mean this?

EDIT: Ohhh, I see the new shroud. Apparently it's free from EVGA if you show proof of purchase of a Hybrid cooler?

I own an EVGA 980 ti FTW card and has been running pretty hot lately. Thinking about purchasing the hybrid cooler from EVGA. Only issue I think is the fact that it doesn't come with the blower fan...where can I get one? or can anyone suggest another option? Is Corsairs HG10 980 compatible? I have a h50 lying around I could slap in there... Is the EVGA worth the price tag vs the corsair?

Problem is that the cooler is designed around using the reference fan to cool the VRM. You have aftermarket cards so it won't work unless you have some Nvidia reference coolers just lying around.

Better option is a Corsair HG10 bracket for each card paired with a cooler like the H60.

Yes, in some cases you can get a watercooling kit like this one. I'm having trouble finding one for your exact card though. Make sure to get one that is known to be compatible with the exact make and model of your card.

You can also make a full custom loop by buying all the components separately. (waterblock, pump, reservoir, fittings, tubing) Although that is quite a bit more expensive.

The simple solution may just be to increase air flow in your case with more/better case fans, or by pulling your overclock back a bit.

u/theholylancer · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

with 3 or 4x sli, you can even go with closed loop to cut some of that danger down (assuming they are properly made)

like a http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-Hybrid-GeForce-Cooling-400-HY-0996-B1/dp/B00ZQ4PFX2

they work well enough (they will not outperform a full custom loop given they have weak motors with relatively small rads), or even some very good air coolers (that has fresh air setup, not crammed in)

As long as you can mount those 4 exhaust easily (maybe 1 rear exhaust, and 3 on the window or all 4 in the window?) and they can get fresh air then job done.

Just out of curiosity which cooler did you decide to go with? I have the ACX 2.0 version. So just above the stock reference. This has caused me to consider getting a better cooler for my card too. =)

Edit - was it this one? http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-Hybrid-GeForce-Cooling-400-HY-0996-B1/dp/B00ZQ4PFX2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1459192749&sr=8-1&keywords=980+ti+cooler

Here is a "proper" AIO liquid cooling solution for a 980ti. Please check here to make sure your GPU is compatible. If it is a blower style cooler, then it will work which I believe yours is. Be sure to double check though.

980 ti(used) +this water cooler or a 1070?

u/coolkid647 · 1 pointr/nvidia

How difficult was it setting up the hybrid cooler? Would you recommend it? You said you got the 980ti one, so this one?

If you have stock 980 Ti's or can get ahold of stock coolers you can do what I did

http://i.imgur.com/yuyyRia.jpg

Those EVGA kits work with reference cards, but they do require the reference bracket and blower fan to keep the card cool, you don't "need" them but it will look kinda ghetto without it.

The kit is $60 on Amazon, will work with any stock blower on any reference 980 Ti or Titan X.

If your 980 Ti has a reference PCB, I would get the EVGA Hybrid cooling kit:

https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-Hybrid-GeForce-Cooling-400-HY-0996-B1/dp/B00ZQ4PFX2

It's on a really good sale right now for only $60. That's pretty much the cheapest price you would pay for an AIO cooler anyway. It also includes a shroud and fan. So it will look nicer than a G10 and you won't need to pay the extra $30 for one.

Edit: looks like shipping is 1-3 months. Nevermind.

It's $100 on Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814998105

Still worth it IMO.
