It was discontinued in 2006. I remember reading about it. My mom, a New Yorker, went and bought a couple of ceramic cups with the print she grew up with. Not sure if these are the ones she got, but they look like them.

I'm not much a set person. I like to buy by the piece. I see a lot of interesting looking diner mugs just by searching generically on ebay "diner mugs". You've actually just reminded me of a mug I've been meaning to buy. It's based on the iconic NYC cup; you've certainly seen one if you've ever bought a cup of coffee or tea from a street vendor anywhere in the city. I fucking love these things.
There is also a 10 oz ceramic version for $12.
