The only modification I made was to stick the Cintiq to the tray with some double-sided tape that you use for hanging pictures on walls (3M command strips). Prevents me from bumping the thing off accidentally and destroying $1000 worth of electronics. And should peel off without residue should the need arise.

I use this laptop desk clamp that I modified with some spacer pegs to keep my big-ass pro steady. Clears up a lot of my desk space. The drawback to using it on a keyboard stand would be the clamping style. You need a horizontal surface to grab, which can be limited depending on the stand type.
If you’ve got tubular stands, something like this would work better, granted the tune diameter is small enough. (Up to 1 3/4”for this particular one)
There’s way more options for the smaller screen iPads with spring clips and different types of clamps.

Yes, it certainly needs it, my puny laptop mount is warping it too.. I love this desk but I'm used to things being solid, not thrilled. Aesthetically pleased though!
Having a dock underneath the monitor would take no extra space. Here is a Dell one for example.. Would need to know your exact laptop make and model to see if there's a compatible one for yours.
Alternately, if you want to use the laptop as a second monitor, get a clamp style monitor mount.
It's been a while since my ergonomics training at work, but from what I remember, I think the most ergonomic computer set up is to position the chair, desktop and keyboard/mouse so that your upper arm can be by your side, elbow bent ~90 degrees or slightly less (greater than 90 deg angle) and still be able to access keyboard and mouse. Monitor should be slightly below eye level. Also, you should also to do this while fully seated and upright in the chair. Here's a picture of the position

Ergonomic keyboards work because they allow your wrists to stay straight with the forearm. Most everybody is usually wider than the letters part of the keyboard, so with most keyboards, arms bend inward to type and wrists have to bend outward to type. They also have some sort of palm rest to keep the wrist from bending up or down.
This usually means arm rests on chairs aren't ergonomic. They usually hit the desktop/keyboard drawer in the ideal sitting position.
Looks like your set up has everything. The only thing I would suggest is more permanent stand for the notebook. Seems like you have it sitting on some plastic tubs.
