The problem I had with Swann and Lorex was push notification and app UI. I ultimately settled on this EzViz system and I've loved it. It pushes notifications right to my phone, I can monitor all 4 cameras at the same time and the motion detection hasn't been super touchy.

Wireless 1080p (or 720p) is flakey with multiple feeds if you live in a well populated area. Unless you are renting your home just wire it. If you are lazy buy power-line ethernet repeaters. I would recommend a PoE router and PoE cameras. Really easy to run because you only need one wire. I would NOT recommend putting security software recording on a computer that is likely to be stolen. Get cameras with a microSD slot for recording and one centralized NVR (network video recorder) that can be hidden. I bought this nonbranded camera system and really enjoy it. Sorry I can't offer feedback on the system but maybe just the knowledge that someone else has an off brand that worked will be enough for you. It's been running for 1 year now.
As a side note i got the Ezviz because it offers IFTTT support so i can create a script to turn on motion alerts when my house is empty.
