When you take it for alterations, see what the person recommends. Proper fitting will definitely help at least some, and they may have other tricks. Also, I'm a 34d/dd and just went on a hunt, this works surprisingly well. It will probably be too small for you cup-wise, but it does actually provide support since it has underwire, and that combined with cups and tailoring might do the trick.
