Let me be a little more helpful: Did your giftee list any specific games from the Final Fantasy series? If so, here are some easter eggs he or she may like:

• Final Fantasy XIII trilogy: in this series, maybe consider the pendant that lightning wore. You can find it for pretty cheap but if you think it's too cheap, it could be part of a bigger gift package.
  
  
• Final Fantasy VIII: The Tetra Master card game was a mini-game, but a huge factor in this gameplay (required to complete some quests and get summons).
  
  
• Final Fantasy VII: (Most people loved this game and chose it as their #1). There's so many to list for this one and chances are your giftee has already seen the movie: FFVII: Advent Children as well. But what he or she may not have seen is the Collector's Edition with 30 minutes extra never before scene footage!
  

The Limited Edition Collector's Set of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children contains the English version of On the Way to a Smile. It doesn't have all of the stories, but it does have the first few, which were really good. Unfortunately, it was not included in the blu-ray release.

On the Way to a Smile is a collection of short stories that take place between Final Fantasy VII and Advent Children. The three that were released in the Limited Edition set are "Case of Denzel," "Case of Tifa," and "Case of Barrett." "Case of Denzel" was later adapted into a CGI short film, which was included in Advent Children Complete. The Japanese version of the book includes some additional stories that were not released in North America: "Case of Yuffie," "Case of Nanaki," "Case of Shinra," "Case of the Lifestream: Black," and "Case of the Lifestream: White."

It was included with the special edition of Advent Children (not Advent Children Complete.) I think this is that special edition, but I'm not 100% sure. The description on Amazon seems to match the description here, but there's no mention of Last Order on Amazon. Still, I'm pretty sure that's it.
