I've heard mixed things about steam DL, so read up if you take that route. Anyway, I just started and it took about a week of casual play and two days of solid game play to get back up and into endgame-ish areas.

With the Challenge Log, Dailies, and everything else SE has added in the recent patches, its an enjoyable game to restart. Dungeons give good XP, the world is continually growing - hardest part is finding a place to fit in. If you do come to Gilgamesh, hit me up - Aykatu Katamaru

Then buy Stormblood from any outlet you prefer be it digital or physical. After launch, Stormblood purchases would include Heavensward.

Cheaper to go the physical route because the Stormblood expansion will be 40 USD

Or get the full bundle for 60 USD about 4 USD (But you may break even with shipping costs if you don't have prime) more expensive but you get everything digitally either on PC or PS4.

Keep in mind, the PC edition is not Steam, if that matters to you if you're a PC player.

For PC: To start playing you need just A Realm Reborn, which will grant you all content from 1-50 including the 2 years of patch content before Heavensward released. The only thing you will be missing out on is creating an Au Ra character that you can start the game as from level 1.
Then you need Heavensward, which grants access to the 50-60 content, with the new land (6 zones), 3 new jobs and the 2 years of Heavensward patch content. It also lets you either make an Au Ra character, or change your character's race to an Au Ra.
There is also a bundle where you may buy both the base game and the expansion together, but there is no bundle with Collector's Edition goodies.
You will need both collector's editions if you want all the digital goodies, or you can buy upgrades to both editions in order to get them, whenever you choose to.
On Steam it looks exactly the same. The only downside is that you are bound to buy everything on Steam and the box edition codes will not work with Steam. This makes it hard if you wish to have the physical collector's editions as their codes will not work with the Steam version and you would need to buy the collector's box and the Steam upgrade for Stormblood, for example.
For PS4:
It's the same as on PC, except the digital PSN codes and the box editions codes can be mixed and matched without issues.

2, i think it looks good. It isn't the best I have seen, but considerably better then a number of newer games.

3, The story line is quite good.

4, do you mean to play? Amazon.com is the purchase price. As for monthly costs, it's $13 a month, i think.

However, from someone who had played GW2 for awhile, I am going to be glad to stop seeing the "buy chest in store for chance to get" type of thing.
