If something is 100% absurd, then there is no need to defend you claims against it - to those willing to entertain logic.

Your position defends itself by being obviously true and provable - to those who understand abstract concepts such as "truth" and "proof."

But if your claim isn't obviously true and provable, the effort you put in to defend your claim is proportional - to the feebleness of the intellects you confront.

Look - it'd be nice if this birther shit went away on its own because it's patently ridiculous. But this shit goes on forever if you don't spell it out, in one- and two-syllable words, for every wingnut psychopath willing to believe everything they read on Drudge or hear on Limbaugh. That's the lesson learned from Clinton:

Dispel everything. Even the stupidest, most outlandish claims will get traction if you take the high road and ignore it.
