Bass Brocktons are recommended quite a bit as a cheap, good looking suede shoe. If you have the money, however, go with the Buckingham.

You need to give a price range, not just say "a lot less". A lot less is still a $200 shoe. Just search for "suede derby" or "suede bucks" (although bucks may not be what you are looking for, they can be a cheaper alternative). Considering the summer is fast approaching you probably won't find a deal like you could once fall and winter come around again. Under $100 you're looking at brands like Bass, Bostonian and Florsheim. Here is a simple guide.

Now that I have said all that, please use the sidebar! I found probably your best under $100 option in about a minute in the "shoes" guide under footwear. Bass Buckinham in Navy.

If you have a simple question chances are it has already been covered several times, just use the sidebar and the search function.

  • I have these Bass Brocktons in Taupe Suede. They're Spring/Summer/Fall weather shoes and today I just changed the laces out for red ones; pretty good move. Also, Bass outlets carry these for around $45.

  • If you do a quick search for Red Wing boots on amazon, you can find some awesome ones for maybe $50 over your budget. I think these would be another good option for fall/winter.

  • White shoes arn't very ideal for anything but summer because of the weather fluctuation, unless you live where it is summer year-round.

These look similar and are pretty frugal.

Edit: whups, linked wrong shoes

Blucher mocs, wingtips, boots (option 2), chukkas (option 2), penny loafers, and bucks (option 2 & option 3) are all some great options.

If you can, try to introduce him to slimmer pants in a darker wash -- perhaps some 511's or 513's in 'rigid dragon' or 'bastion' respectively? Combined with some new shoes, he'll look great. :)

Need a belt to match these in taupe suede. http://www.amazon.com/Bass-BROCKTON-Mens-Brockton-Oxford/dp/B002U82Q20

Any tips? More casual look. With white/silver and navyish blue chinos. As you can tell by the shoes price point is pretty low.

Try these or these

$55 on Amazon. Though they were $38 just a few days ago. Prices seem pretty volatile.

As for the mocs, those are the cheapest I've seen. This being the alternative that I know of. :/

Can i match these camel cords with the taupe suede brockton bucks?

Also, what color socks would I wear then? I looked a little and should they be a darker brown?

You could go for some Bass Buckinhams

Or the bulbous version the Brocktons

Both are pretty good quality and the price isn't too bad either.
