The closest thing I've seen with actual people review it is the G-Story 120Hz monitor:

Supposedly this is pretty good.

I don't think a single cable is capable of power +high refresh rate. The G-story 17" 120hz monitor comes to mind, but that will still require ac cable for power.

Integrate it on the rear of this and you have a truly portable Freesync-powered gaming experience everywhere you go! Bonus points for integrating the power for the monitor and the PC if voltages align.

I know you've specified 144Hz, but the G-Story 17.3 inch is a high refresh (120Hz) monitor.

I own one of these monitors and they're well-built. It feels light, although admittedly, I haven't personally compared it to other portable monitors.

For a portable monitor, it has a big screen. I feel that I'm sitting in front of a "desktop" when using it. The downside is that it can be a little troublesome to transport. e.g. You might have to find a suitable backpack or carry on.

Be aware that the monitor can't be powered via USB-C. (This isn't clear until you read some of the QAs on Amazon). I'm powering mine via my PSU, which means one less power-brick to pack. The original power-brick is rated at 12V @ 2A.

This one is likely the best option out there at the moment.

I recently purchased this for my PS4 Pro after owning previous G-Story monitors and Hori’s Universal HD Gaming Monitor. HORI’S UNIVERSAL HD GAMING MONITOR ($199) isn’t technically HD (720p), the 15.6 in screen is kind of washed out, but the built in side speakers are great. The soft stand case it comes with allows for a few adjustment angles too. That being said the menus is very frustrating to use with the buttons on the side of the screen. In comparison the 17.3 in G-STORY HDR FHD monitor ($249) had a beautiful crisp screen with vivid colors, it came with a convenient remote control, but the stereo speakers on the back of it were absolute garbage. This was a dealbreaker for me and I returned it. Finally I purchased this. Overall I am satisfied with it for the portability factor alone and it also came with a remote control. The screen looks gorgeous, but the speakers are still garbage. Your mileage may vary depending on whether that matters to you or not as it does include headphone ports but sadly on the back of the unit. Interestingly enough, Unbox Therapy did a video a couple of years ago on the Hori SCEA licensed monitor which seems to be all but extinct at this point. I’m not sure what the deal is between Hori and G-Story. From the videos I’ve seen on the original Hori version, there seem to be more features in the menus, the speakers are placed on the front of the unit as opposed to the back, and it generally seems to be of higher quality. Unfortunately the Hori version seems to only be selling from eBayers in Japan right now at a premium price point ($400-600). I have not located it anywhere else online. Incidentally, there is a product on Amazon called ETTG GAEMS T905 which seems to be another knockoff of the Hori design, but unlike G-Story’s version it also includes an extra USB port?

Here is the Unbox Therapy video of the Hori model.

That Samsung monitor is really neat, but note that you'll need a USB 3.1 G2 Type C port capable of DP-Alt mode and able to supply the necessary power if you want the single-cable solution. If this isn't possible for you, you'll need to research if it can be powered by USB C while using HDMI etc. The monitor I linked above is not capable of using the USB C port for power while using HDMI (you need to use the DC 12v in)

That is a great question. There is one dude who did on sff network. I am in bed right now, but I can dig up the post tomorrow morning.

If you don’t want to take a chance on using superbuy and a chinese seller, take a look at the gstory 17.3

Obviously some trade offs, but the major benefit is dealing with amazon and being significantly cheaper.

15'' to 17'' on 1080p is more in line with laptops monitors, not that common to see a desktop monitor at that size. There are companies that are using laptop screens to do portable monitors, some that come with speakers and vesa mounts, here some examples,
