Jason Lake, owner of Complexity and Torbull, owner of Team3D were rivals back in the 1.6 days. Complexity and Team3D would consistently go head to head at events and they would trade wins and it wasn't ever really decided who was the better American team. There were times where Complexity dominated but they were also times where Team3D dominated.

There are quite a few documentaries that feature the rivalry and a book that follows them pretty closely called Game Boys and then a documentary called E-@thletes that was somewhat of a result of the book.

idk if you guys have heard of this, but there's a book about e-sports that focuses on the 3D vs coL rivalry in NA back in the day called The Game Boys http://www.amazon.com/Game-Boys-Battleground-Competitive-Videogaming/dp/0452295440

It's a really great read.

I reminesce about these years a lot too. If you haven't read the book Game Boys by Michael Kane , I highly recommend it. A reporter for the NY Post did an article on competetive gaming in 2004 and was intrigued by it. He followed Team3d and compLexity around for 2 years during 2005 and 2006(1.6 peak popularity years) and wrote a book about the rivalry. It's a great read with a lot of really interesting anecdotes about the teams and players.
