Just want to add something in case anyone says that they need to use a surge protector to power their Xbox because they have something else plugged into the other outlet etc. Get one of these, they work great. Just plug your Xbox into one of the other outlets and you'll be fine. Just don't go crazy and load up all the outlets.

Do you know if the box is single gang or double gang? If it's set off the stud a bit (little less than an inch) then it's probably a double gang with a SG adapter plate. If the edge is right on the stud then it's single and you'll have to put a double gang box in.
Me personally, I'd take out my drywall saw and open it up. If it's a single gang I'd rip it out and put in a double gang box (old work box, with the nails not those crappy ones that attach to drywall). Unless you don't have paint for the wall I'd recommend saving a lot of headache and just carve a big hole to give you plenty of space to get the box out, new one in, and wiring in. It can be done in just the space of the new box, but it's tough and a PIA. Chances are you spend a bunch of time trying it and F-up at some point necessitating spackle and paint at a minimum. A couple inches of space to one side and in the directions of the wires makes things much easier.
If it's already a double you may be able to get away without doing drywall, but you have to be careful. The problem is that the box will be set back the width of the drywall, the double to single adapter is a mudring, and now you'll need a double mudring. You have to fully remove all drywall in front of the box to get the mud ring off, and put on a double mud ring. Then put some spackle around the edges and touchup.
But I've read enough Reddit to know I'm in the minority and most people are scared of electricity. For the masses, why not just use one of these:

So get something new and turn that E1200 into an AP. You can get a TP-Link Archer C7 for what, $100? Or hit up Craigslist. You will be much happier.
And to echo /u/pogidaga, you need to terminate this into a patch panel. They're not expensive, and you can easily just screw them into the wall. It's not the prettiest setup in the world, but presumably you're doing this in a closet/attic to begin with. I have a rack similar to the one he lists that screws into the wall; my router and AP sit on top of the switch that's attached to that rack. If you're planning to be there a while, it's worth the extra effort. Power's often tricky, but getting something like this will usually accommodate all the wall warts, and 1-foot extension cords will handle any ones that are too tight.

Also - extension cords or Multi-outlet plug in adapter (this or this bc it sucks to move into a place that has 1 outlet in living room or bedroom and you need to charge electronics, plug in TV, plug in fan for summer, etc! These are necessities I've found!
