I wouldn't be so sure of yourself. Intelligent key systems aren't all pushbutton start vehicles. The A34 Maxima had the Rotary style intelligent key, which had a knob that could be turned like an ignition key without any key inserted, the fob just needed to be in range of the internal ikey antennas. In case of a discharged ikey fob, the mechanical key could be removed from the fob and inserted through the flap in the knob, and the vehicle could be started via mechanical key. Don't believe me? Would you believe the Service Manual?

And here is where it states that Consult II is required to register the INTELLIGENT KEY: http://i.imgur.com/qpUJf4n.jpg

Furthermore, I pulled the key part number for a 2007 Maxima. It comes up with the mechanical key with transponder, and the smart remote.

Sure looks like an ikey to me. How bout you?

Is that enough proof? Have I proved my point?

Also, in the future, maybe don't try to disprove someone who works for Nissan North America, directly alongside the Engineers responsible for these vehicles, without checking your information first. I also worked in the dealerships prior to that, where I became a Nissan Master Technician and ASE Master/L1 Technician and programmed several of these rotary style ikey Maximas.

So, are you done giving bad information yet? Or are you still going to assume the same procedures apply to an A34 Maxima (2004-2008) that work on an A33 Maxima?
