Just a recommendation, I've been using this book. It has very short lessons that typically introduces a new word and then gives 10 sentences for you to translate. I've been going through this book at work and it seems to be doing well for me. I'm on lesson 54 and I haven't had to look up the answers more than a handful of times.

My general plan, which might change, is to move to Wheetlock's when I'm done, going through their workbook, and then possibly moving to Linga Latina per se illustrata. I own Wheetlock's already, but I feel that first book I linked is the best starting place.
