In this price range, that is definitely difficult to find. Something like the Gigabyte Aero 15 or Eluktronics MAG-15 are your options.

The Dell XPS XPS9570-7996SLV-PUS or the GIGABYTE AERO 15 Classic-SA-F74ADW would be the best laptops to get IMO. Both are fast laptops that can game well with the Gigabyte being the better of the two in that department. Display wise the XPS would be the one to get as it is more color accurate and it has a better battery life as well.

Both laptops can last your beyond 3 years and both have a professional look.

I still really like the Aero 15 classic. Very good sale price. Great all around. Big battery.

You can consider the UHD OLED screen, better for editing, worse for gaming and battery.

I'm looking at the Aero 15. Specifically this skew, w/ i7-9750H/1660ti/144hz/1080p. However, I would really like the refresh (with the gap below the screen) with the same specs, not the classic, due to better thermals. I see one listed on Gigabyte's site here; listed as the AERO 15S SA. (pic).

It's exactly what I want. Problem is, I can't find a listing for it anywhere except for on AUS sites (I'm in the US). Does anyone know if it can be bought in the US; or if there's a different skew that matches my needs? (1080p/144hz/non-OLED).

Thanks!

go for the [GIGABYTE Aero 15 F74ADW] (https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-AERO-15-Classic-SA-F74ADW-i7-9750H/dp/B07QS8T7HM/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=Gigabyte+AERO+15+Classic-SA-F74ADW&qid=1570969520&s=electronics&sr=1-2) which consist of 8 hours of battery life, new gtx 1660 ti gpu which performs really well in the price range you stated,Powerful GPU which can run the latest games at high settings, very Fast CPU for high graphic intensive games, 144 hz which is adequate refresh rate(fps) for the price, latest 9th gen processor.

If you want something really powerful with good battery life I would recommend the GIGABYTE AERO 15 Classic this has the newer 9th gen CPU with almost the biggest battery you can but on a laptop with a GTX 1660Ti, 16GB of RAM, 512GB Intel 760P SSD and it only weighs 4.5 lbs .

What do u think of Gigabyte Aero 15- https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QS8T7HM/ref=cm_sw_r_wa_awdb_t1_zbDSDbQHK157D

I think this has like all grt specs and gud battery life and lightweight.

u/[deleted] · 1 pointr/GamingLaptops

A gaming laptop without a high refresh is not that good lol. You could get a aero 17. But just get https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-AERO-15-Classic-SA-F74ADW-i7-9750H/dp/B07QS8T7HM/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?keywords=aero+15+1660ti&qid=1574847320&sr=8-4

Or you could get what you have and a monitor.

Here is the post I tried to make previously but it was snagged by the automod. Hopefully it works this time. I copied links from previous mod posts so I have no idea why it wouldn't work.

From what I've found, there are very limited options for laptops with decent dedicated graphics cards + large WH batteries. I mostly use my laptop while traveling and outlets can be hard to come by. You do get a few options at the top end of your price range:

gigabyte Aero 15 (https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-AERO-15-Classic-YA-U96ASP-i9-9980HK/dp/B07QS8T7HM) and MAG-15 (https://www.amazon.com/Eluktronics-MAG-15-GeForce-Mechanical-Keyboard/dp/B07X6MJ4X7). both have 90+ Wh batteries and 'slim' form factors.

Similarly, reduced specs but better batter life gets you into MSI prestige 15 range (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WLTLDKN/) which can do some light gaming as well. It's slightly more affordable but in-depth reviews have been slow to roll out. Also, the Dell Vostro and Dell XPS laptops come with GTX1650 max-q cards and H series processors + Large batteries. Something like this Aero 15 would do a very good job for you in terms of its performance power , display quality , aesthetics etc and especially if you want a system with high performance paired with good battery life, this is one of the best options around.

u/LonerIM2 · 1 pointr/SuggestALaptop

Since you don't like the Mag then this is your 2nd best thing.

u/jklemon17 · 1 pointr/SuggestALaptop

Maybe take a look at this Gigabyte Aero 15? It doesn't have a 2.5 inch slot, but does have an extra M.2 PCIe slot you can throw another card into.

Here are two that are super thin and have amazing battery. They're both about $1500 but they have pretty good specs.
