i guess you're assuming the "by own" part because the article is featured on Quillette, but ben burgis is by no means in the same camp as IDW peeps like JP, nor was he ever

his career, especially now with his upcoming book, is oriented to provide direct opposition to them

Lmao and what's that book he's promoting?

Seems like a great way to market an introduction to formal logic to american leftoids.

I think we can approach at least some of that riff-raff in a more constructive way than just banning it outright.

Get Ben Burgis's book LOGIC FOR THE LEFT and use these arguments against him, they are specifically designed to refute Shapiro-style bullshit. I've had success getting some of my students to question Peterson by pointing out his philosophical ignorance - breaks the spell of their supposed intellectual credibility. If you've got a little philosophical knowledge, you can challenge what I think is their weakest point, their idealism. Like the Chapos just discussed, Shapiro wants to claim "Western civilization" depends on "Jerusalem and Athens," i.e. on combining "Judeo-Christian" theism with Socratic rationalism. But this literally cannot be the whole story, because those ideas themselves emerged within material contexts (the rise of Israelite patriarchy and the late Athenian slave system respectively). So his whole theory of history is laughably wrong, which means his prescriptions for the present are unhelpful - material conditions matter, and you can't just say "if we all believe hard enough everything will work out!" Yet that's the intellectual level of his arguments against redistribution.
