I have both the mobley plan(same as the ipad plan but a bit cheaper) and the verizon unlimited prepaid hotspot plan. In my area Both get good signal and average data speeds of 20-97 on the verizon hotspot(20-40 during peak times) and 15-70 on the att one. I have the att sim in a nighthawk and the verizon sim in a 7730L mifi jetpack.

I bought this router off amazon a long time ago https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DBS5Z0W/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I have the verizon jetpack tethered via usb to it and the nighthawk plugged in via Ethernet cable to the wan port on it. The router has openwrt as its os and i configured mwan3 to load-balance and failover just incase one of the connections goes down. that little router has 1 lan port thats connected to one of my samsung mesh wifi pucks(3 total) that give me 2 network jacks each so i put a puck next to my computer and hardwired that and another next to my tv to hard wire my nvidia shield into. Its been working great for the last 3 months.

I have the verizon jetpack plan bundled with my cellphone so it comes out to 45 bucks after auto pay for that and i just buy prepaid cards off ebay for 25-35% off. and the att sim cost me just under 25 bucks a month so not to shabby for a decent network setup with failover

Best bang for the buck I've found so far this year. The microSD add-on really gives this small package some extra omph.
