Duct tape will not adhere to wood. Black Gorilla Tape is an option though.

allow me to introduce: Gorilla Tape

I highly recommend doing it for insurance purposes. The process for mounting to a helmet is simple, but you'll need the curved adhesive mount.

I added strips of gorilla tape to secure the mount. I did this because the reverse of the curved mount is just a 3M sticky pad.

Edit: I could add photos, however these youtube videos might be more useful.

Did you get a flat from this?

A hole like this does not destroy the structural integrity of a tire like say...a rip in the sidewall might. What it does do is introduce a weak point where road debris can get in and cause repeated tube punctures. In order to prevent that I would recommend "Booting" the tire.

'Booting' is installing a protective layer inside the tire.
My favorite method for making "permanent" (Note the scare quotes) boots is to cut up an old tube, or maybe even a piece of tire and then use the rubber cement that comes in all patch kits to glue it inside of the tire at the point of damage.

If after booting you are getting tube punctures/ flat tires it's time to replace the tire.

Other (More temporary) Booting methods: Gorilla Tape, Park tools tire boot, Mylar or other Food Wrapper materials as well as the Patches from the patch kit itself.

You want to use duck tape to solve that problem. It won't look as cute as just wearing the diaper, but the right duck tape is the solution.

When I say "right duck tape" I don't just mean the kind that you pick up from the store. You want something that will be sticky and adhere to the material (whether cloth backed or plastic) so that it won't come loose.

I suggest this: https://www.amazon.com/Scotch-Tough-Transparent-Duct-Tape/dp/B0000DH8I8

Get the transparent kind, not any other kind. The material is light, and the adhesive is the best for either cloth or plastic. I found these back when ABU tapes were kind in need of a bit of help to stay affixed. This is what I used for that purpose.

Use the tape to just replace the taps. Fold the diaper wings in, and tape it as if the duck tape were the tapes that came with the original diaper. I know this works because I've done it.

I don't suggest any of these:

  1. https://www.amazon.com/Gorilla-Clear-Repair-Duct-Tape/dp/B00EUGCT22/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_60_bs_t_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=ZAK235JY3Q53R18907MY (bad because of the tape material and failure to adhere to cloth, but improper adherence to plastic)
  2. https://www.amazon.com/Gorilla-6003001-Tough-2-88-Inch-30-Yards/dp/B003KTLRUA/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_60_tr_t_3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=ZAK235JY3Q53R18907MY (too thick, feels awkward while wearing)
  3. https://www.amazon.com/Duck-240867-Strength-Inches-Single/dp/B00LT1NAHY/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_60_lp_t_4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=ZAK235JY3Q53R18907MY (material does not hold well, and adhesive is generally garbage)
  4. https://www.amazon.com/Black-Gorilla-Tape-1-88-Roll/dp/B000CSS8UE/ref=pd_bxgy_60_img_3?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B000CSS8UE&pd_rd_r=ZAK235JY3Q53R18907MY&pd_rd_w=xGgRa&pd_rd_wg=1ByEk&psc=1&refRID=ZAK235JY3Q53R18907MY (this would be good for something like repairing a tarp, but other than that, this stuff is just too sticky to reasonably work with)

One thing you'll want to do for that type of store is keep an eye out for product close-outs, discontinued products, inventory clearances and that sort of thing. Auctions too. If you have the opportunity to get items that your market base would want at clearance prices, even if you can't keep them in stock, it's a good idea.

For advice on specific items to stock, separate from the above advice, I would advocate for Four Sevens for flashlights: they have excellent quality products - they keep up to date with the latest production CREE LED emitters.

Hmm, what else... paracord, obviously, every military surplus type store needs paracord - get quality cord: mil-c-5040h type iii is milspec standard. There are a bunch of manufacturers of '550 cord' but mil-c-5040h type iii is something you want to be able to have labeled on your cord.

CR-123a batteries are another good item to stock. Search around online for the best bulk deals - well, you know the drill.

Various types of tape: 1000-mile-an-hour tape, Gorilla brand duct tape, Self-fusing silicone tape - these are all excellent products and go well with your market.

Look through other suppliers in the same & similar line of business: check out CountyComm, LA Police Gear, Cheaper Than Dirt... there are a bunch of them.

Edit: oh, products to stay away from (only one came to mind right now but I'll update if/when I find more): These Kind of 'ration bars' - please never buy or sell this crap: the only thing good is the quality of the packaging. These 'ration bars' should never be relied upon for emergency nutrition: all they are is cookie bars, nothing else, empty calories with no vitamins/minerals/nutrients - your typical Power Bar that you can get at any supermarket has far, far more nutritional value.

I'm curious about the pricing too (I also saw it was $120 when you commented). I looked up the cost of the things listed.

  • Gerber Dime green/black - $16.02 new on Amazon
  • Zebra F-701 pen - $7.20 new on Amazon
  • NarwhalCo pens set of 2 - $11.95 new on their site
  • 2.5" ratchet bit extension - about $4~ new on Amazon (counting out the other bits included in that listing)
  • ARES 1/4" micro bit ratchet & mini bits - $14.42 new on Amazon
  • Small length of black Gorilla tape - less than $1 worth of a full 1-pack price new on Amazon
  • Glasses/screen cleaning cloth - comparable to $1.50 new on Amazon from a 6-pack
  • Length of FireCord - less than $1 worth of a full 1 roll price new on Amazon
  • Bic Mini lighter - about $1.39 new on Amazon from a 5-pack
  • Sim card removal tool - about $0.50 new on Amazon from a 10-pack
  • Kingston 32gb microSD card & portable USB reader - $20.94 new on Amazon
  • CountyComm "Industrial Strength Survival Food Grade Tin" large topo design - $3.45 new on their site

In total that's about $83.37 USD all new prices. Most include free shipping if purchased from Amazon. I did not include possible cost of that leather holster because the post currently does not say the leather holster is included or not.

I started using Gorilla Tape a few years ago and have never used anything else.

I use single sided Gorilla tape to secure my mats to each other. Between the mats that edge up against the wall, and the mats that have my rack and plate trees sitting on them, and the fact that they're all attached together by the tape, everything is quite solid.

Honestly the mats didn't move much in the first place, but the tape helps avoid those irritating <1cm pits that might happen in between two mats if they move slightly, say during DL.

If I'm in and around town, I dont carry anything. It's too easy to get the wife to bring me my kit or call a tow (if needed). If I'm away from town, or fufilling my RC duties I carry the following:

Tool Roll

Portable Jumpstarter

Tire Gauge

Tire Pump and Slime

First Aid Kit

Zip Ties

Gorilla Tape (I would prefer Ammo Tape, but I can't find it on the civilian market).

It doesn't come off easy, but it will keep ANYTHING stuck together.

Gorilla Glue

Gorilla Tape

There's some good instructional videos on Youtube if you search for it. My walls were a bit of a pain, but definitely well worth it in the end.

Here's my tool list that I'd recommend:

I cut fine strips of gorilla tape ( Black Gorilla Tape 1.88 In. x 35 Yd., One Roll https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000CSS8UE/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_xFOTub1XKN5GT ) and placed around the inside. Then covered the tape with shoe goo ( Sof Sole Shoe Goo, Clear https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002L9AL84/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_eGOTub07851J8 )

The thing is a tank now. I do it to all my plastic bodies. My 4x4 slash, nano cpx, nano and FPV nano etc.

Glue traps are expensive, so my brother uses Gorilla duct tape. Believe it or not, it's really effective!

Just set out long rolls of Gorillia duct tape in the corners of your basement and by any humid areas, like windows.
