Baby Bucket consider one of these types of seats if you don't mind buying another car seat when this one is outgrown. Your hospital may or may not need you to bring your seat inside before you're discharged.
A Convertible Seat can also fit the bill. This type can last for quite some time. Our youngest started out with a convertible and it worked very well.
However, this time around I will be opting for the infant carrier, mostly because I don't have enough hands to wrangle a 2 year old and a newborn through a parking lot/store.
