I would be happy to!

You definitely have to start with Halo: The Fall of Reach by Eric Nylund. It is the very first book and describes how the Master Chief came to be who he is and what the Spartans are. It is a great read and definitely the first on the list.

After that, you can read Halo: The Flood by William Dietz if you like. It is basically a novelization of Halo: Combat Evolved, but with a few more storylines mixed in. It isn't necessary, though, but I still recommend it.

After that you will want to read Halo: First Strike by Eric Nylund. It takes place immediately after Halo: CE and bridges the gap between CE and Halo 2. It is another great read with plenty good characters.

After those there are a couple choices, so I would work on finishing those first books and then going from there! Hope this was helpful. :)

Additionally, here are some links to the books on Amazon. These may not be the best prices since they are just the first ones I found. If you are looking to buy online I would do a little more research.

  • Boxed Set #1

  • Boxed Set #2

  • Cryptum -- Primordium -- Silentium

  • Glasslands -- The Thursday War

  • Evolutions Complete -- Volume I -- Volume II

The first boxed set contains the first three novels: The Fall of Reach, The Flood, and First Strike. These will be the first 3 novels you should read.

The second boxed set contains Contact Harvest and The Cole Protocol which are both stand-alone novels. Both are interesting and can be read at any time after the first 3. It also contains Ghosts of Onyx (the best of the 3 in my opinion) which is a semi-sequel to First strike and a prequel to Glasslands and The Thursday War.

Glasslands and The Thursday War are 2 of 3 planned novels in a trilogy called the Kilo-5 trilogy. Kilo-5 is just the name of the team the books are based around.

There is also another trilogy of books that take place 100,000 years before the events of the games. These novels focus around the Forerunners and the end of their civilization. These should be read after you have played all the games and have read a good portion of the other novels. You don't have to do this, but it would be better in my opinion.

Lastly, there is a novel of short stories called Halo: Evolutions. It contains a number of stories ranging from 1 page to over 100 pages each. It comes in a single novel or as 2 separate volumes. The two volumes have all the same stories as the single book, but they also have an additional story each that the main Evolutions text doesn't have.

Sorry for the long winded comment, hopefully this is helpful and interesting! :D

You're going in order or have so far. [This will be the next book you should read] (http://www.amazon.com/HALO-The-Thursday-Karen-Traviss/dp/076532394X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1348547784&sr=8-1&keywords=the+thursday+war). It isn't out yet, but it continues where Glasslands left off and will also give some more background story going into Halo 4.

As far as I know the chronological order is:

I went to Halo: The Thursday War and under the picture of the book said "Learn how customers can search inside this book." I might be blind, but that seems to be the only option to view what's inside. Here. I remember doing it with other books, just not with this one.

Halo: The Thursday War is the next book in the Halo: Ghost of Onyx storyline. It follows Halo: Glasslands.

They are good reads and are supposedly going to be closer to the story of Halo 4 than the rest of the books were (other than Halo: The Flood which was just a play by play novel of the story of Halo: CE.)
