Having worked with both,I find that the plastic V60 in the decanter is inferior to the ceramic.
The plastic V60 will result in a thinner, less bodied cup. It is also 'dryer'. I suspect this is due to the lack of heat retention. I also dislike the spaceship aesthetic of the dripper when you take it out of the decanter. This is just preference though. If you want you can probably get about the same (visual)result with the IKI decanter (sorry couldn't find it on the hario site quickly) and a ceramic dripper.
