You can still find them on Amazon. As I understand it, all of the 40-packs are still the original Japanese filters; my purchases of these over the last year seems to confirm this.

I've also found that these are the original Japanese filters, tho they're "natural", which some of you may not like:

The last time that I ordered these (Dec 11, 2017), they were also still the original Japanese filters:

I took a chance on those, thinking that they were probably going to be the tabbed filters and was pleasantly surprised to find that they were the originals. They may have changed since then, but the description DOES still say "made in Japan".
Edit: one more thing. I did talk about brew time in that last item, but really, it's not that important. Everyone gets hung up on it.
Don't worry so much about it. Alter your brew parameters to taste. To hell with the brew time. It's just a starting point.
Also from the UK. I order a whole load at a time from this Amazon page: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00BLNPBAE . Specifically its the "size 02-40pcs". I get the original untabbed thin filters every time.
I know some people would suggest grinding coarser to compensate on the new tabbed thicker filters but this didn't work for me. I found with my particular grinder the brew was choking despite going really coarse. I have an Encore with Preciso burrs so after a certain point of coarseness, the grind consistency becomes unacceptable.
The brew water was bypassing the choked grounds and causing an underextracted weak cup every time. I did a lot of testing and eventually just gave in to the fact that I would have to stockpile the thin filters.

These filters are untabbed. Not the cheapest at $6.80 for 40 filters though
