Something like this Hdmi - VGA or HDMI - DVI hope this helped.

I haven't used a projector, but you can use a HDMI to VGA cable or a HDMI to VGA adapter to make any HDMI device work on a VGA display.

It'll add a little bit of fuzziness to the display because you're converting digital to analog.

VGA doesn't carry sound so you'll need to hook up speakers or headphones to the Switch. The headphone jack on the Switch still works when it's docked.

Hdmi is digital video and VGA is analog video so you need a cable that converts the hdmi digital to vga analog. also this is just for the video you will need another solution for audio.

So I ordered a switch yesterday and I plan to use it with my PC monitor. I checked the input for my monitor and saw it has VGA and DVI. Would an HDMI to VGA cable work with the Switch? My monitor is an Acer S240HL (does not have an HDMI port, despite one being advertised.)

Thanks!

I’ve just gotten this

Hope that works for video? Which is my main concern. Could I do something separate for audio as my laptop has a jack on the other side. Perhaps a jack to aux cable ?

I am not building a PC, I bought it as is with the specs I thought would suffice. I didn't intend to upgrade the graphics card yet. I haven't opened up the tower yet. Didn't intend to. I can attach a pic of the back of the tower, but I don't think that's what you're asking for.

The adapter you mention- how does it differ from this? Which I bought. And what would I do with the aux port? My tv doesn't have an ability for that. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CTK4TH4/ref=cm_sw_r_em_apa_i_KfW4Db9CHCDQD

Or this, which also doesn't work. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017Q8ZVWK/ref=cm_sw_r_em_apa_i_.gW4DbFAWS6N8

More than likely you have a VGA or DVI connection. It just depends on your monitor.
