I don't know if you already planned on doing it, but I think you should include at least one shave where you do your normal routine, up until using your DE. Then just use the Mach 3, or whatever. I hated every version of canned shaving cream, and the only one I liked at all was HeadSlick But it also has a fuckload of menthol. But I found it less disagreeable than the mystery goop.
However, it's nowhere near the shave soaps I've tried so far.
Anyway, food for thought. I'm interested to see how your week goes!
Also, the headslick is a must for shaving your head. One bottle of that stuff typically lasts about 6 - 8 months for me.
You should ask him to try shaving in the shower and use his non-dominant hand as a feeler. He should get used to it after the second or third time.
Source: I am bald, myself, and use a Magnum M5 razor, not a straight razor, along with this shaving cream.
I started going bald in my late 20s and shaved it before it really got too bad. I've been shaving now for about 15 years and if I didn't shave I'd pretty much just have hair on the sides and back. Here is my routine which takes less about 3 minutes tops per day:
I also added a fogless mirror in the shower and started shaving my head in there recently; which I like so far.
For sure.
This is the shaving goo that they make.
I can't recommend any "kits" or other products that they sell however. I had a relative go nuts and buy all the stuff several years ago for Christmas, very thoughtful gift though.
I shave about every other day. If my work becomes highly technical, I shave (head & face) more due to my generally increased precision at that time (if that makes sense). If things are chill I might even go two days without shaving.
I shave for 10 minutes every other day when its pretty close, and 15 minutes when its getting longer. That stuff is cool because you don't have to reapply usually like a cream / gel.
