You can get something like this and pair it with a 256GB microSD card. While it's not that low profile, it's still the closest thing to a "low-profile flash drive that's more than 128 GB". Has pretty good reviews too.

A Raspberry Pi 3 with a power adapter and an official case.
If the kit you pick doesn't include it, also a micro SD card. 8GB is the practical minimum - let your budget pick the size.

This is a great solution, especially because there are no tiny 256 GB USB drives yet, the only ones are pretty big. This way you can have 256GB in a small package.
That reader supports USB 3 so you'll be able to utilize the card's full speed (as opposed to the Win's internal reader).
You can get around the lack of SD card slot on the Motorola Moto X very easily. Just get an OTG cable or an adapter like this, or this. Then plug a 64 GB microSD card like this into it. Problem solved!
